I paraphrased his words in the title. But while in an interview on CNN, White House economic advisor Brian Deese was asked about when Americans could get some relief at the gas pump and his response was a classic political blunder. He actually told the truth.

“Well what you heard from the president today was a clear
articulation of the stakes, this is about the future of
the liberal world order and we have to stand firm.”

So there it is.

The administration is doing NOTHING to lower fuel prices other than publicly criticizing oil companies.

The days of cheap gasoline aren’t coming back in the near future and Americans need to brace themselves for an extended period of pain as it becomes increasingly clear that other than cosmetic gestures, the White House isn’t going to do a thing to help them and now a top Biden administration economic aide may have let the cat out of the bag by saying that sacrifice is needed for the good of the “liberal world order.”
On Thursday, National Economic Council Chairman Brian Deese appeared on “CNN Newsroom” after Biden’s G7 press conference in which the leader of the free world said that Americans will need to suffer for “as long as it takes” to accomplish the regime’s objectives in Ukraine.
CNN’s Victor Blackwell, who noted that the conflict could drag on for years, asked Deese, “What do you say to those families who say ‘listen, we can’t afford to pay $4.85 a gallon’ for months if not years, this is just not sustainable?”
Deese, who is another of the Obama retreads working for Biden responded, “Well what you heard from the president today was a clear articulation of the stakes, this is about the future of the liberal world order and we have to stand firm.” . . . story continues at the link above.

We all knew the high prices were part of the liberal plan, glad to hear them admit it to the world.
