Due to the location at the pumping element (rollers) it is an electric shut down switch IMHO that monitors fuel pressure.
It may well be tied into engine temp and oil pressure as a safety shut down in case of an issue.,
Gen sets commonly have such safety shut down systems.

Thanks for the response. I thought it was a shut down switch too but it is odd....it does not have a plunger style...So I bought a VDO switch to install except in my haste it will not work as it is only to be used with a VDO non liquid sensor fueling guage. (WRONG GUAGE)

So I'm on the hunt for a (TM 5-6115-234.) DATE OF MFG 5/64. Any assistance to find such a technical manual would be appreciated greatly.

Simply looks like a pressure switch with a sealed adjustment screw to change the pressure at which it actuates. Like 300 said it may be a part of a auto shut down system possibly to stop it if it runs out of fuel.
