As expected, the passenger side did not get the long term sun exposure so more of the red paint remains. The hood needed a good wet sanding and is much improved.

Love ❤️, orange 🍊🧡 microfiber towels, goof off overspray remover, acetone, and pure carbuna wax was the trick for first pass. From what I can tell it left MT Washington orange. At some point the side panel Tucker Sno Cat logo was masked off and it was painted silver or maybe primer? There is...

Marty has started to reveal the external finish. With the body mocked up I was curious as to how the finish the exterior. Wanted to get the graffiti off the bare aluminum or what appeared to be bare….. Before:

More body fitting. Jr was on the team this afternoon. Todays lesson was the difference between cleco body pins and cleco vision for you 80’s fans.

Cat and trailer unloaded and cleaned up. Replaced the backer bolt and made some custom spacers for the Fun-raising Trailer. Getting the shop into summer formation.

It’s starting to speak to me. Few different ideas and locations to blend the roof seam. The donor has more material and is nicer but want keep as much of the OE roof and lettering as possible. How nice we can get the front will dictate the direction. Orig and donor parts playing nicely so far….

Tacked in the frame which stiffened up the body nicely. Had to add some tube material on the down supports. Once the body panels are removed will clean up and re weld all the splice areas. If you have ever welded on these old frames it a real treat to watch the metal disapear. Add little tar...

Pete must be pumped to have his rear window view back after 13 days of staring at this. Thanks for getting the load home safe. Over 5000 miles and all that was lost is a backer bolt. Priceless!

Luckily for me the difference is 2” of length. You can see the difference in the pics. The body is a perfect type A match and officially turned back into a proper 443. Only modification needed will be to scribe and shear the door pillar on the skin to fit. Perfect fit and all within Tucker...

Big thanks to my friends across the 🇺🇸 for the support on this project. Special shout out to Jinn, Jack, and Scott for organ donation and the flight for life getting the organs east! The biggest hurdle in this project was finding a body to graft in and fit without canabizing another. Well...

I was mistaken on the roof rack supports. The fronts mounts were on the unsupported roof which is probably why the roof is dented here. You can see the marks from the threaded adjusting rods being too loose or too tight and the mount base. The hoop was OE as shown by the unpainted roof underneath.

Did some preliminary body fitting and removed the roof from the donor body. The roof hoop was added before interior paint and lines up with the roof rack. I believe there was a second one on the back. The way this rack carries weight up high as pictured would need to have support under. Holes...
