    Insurance for our toys?

I did, but not in an easy/inexpensive way: it's insured under a business policy as a piece of equipment (i.e. a tractor). @tom How did you end up getting yours insured?

    2022 Colorado Snowcat Jamboree

Anyone know what was going on today? Passed two Tucker Terra’s and the Gilpin County Sheriff truck hauling another Tucker, headed eastbound on I-70 over Eisenhower pass.

    2022 Colorado Snowcat Jamboree

So freaking bummed we didn't stick it out up there until the snow stopped :( Should have, but had a sick little one as well and it just felt easier/less risky to make for home.

    2022 Colorado Snowcat Jamboree

We got snowed out today- Vail pass closed and a wreck on Fremont pass kept us from getting to either parking lot :(

    Storage Covers for Tracks?

You thinking of this thread? https://www.forumsforums.com/threads/outdoor-cover-for-snowcat.88858/ How did the tarp setup hold up? I'm actually more worried about the damage from a tarp over the cab to the paint, than just covering the rubber tracks. Was hoping someone had an 'easy button'...

    Storage Covers for Tracks?

Has anyone here had covers made to keep the sun off their belted (or rubber) tracks? For me, it would be for a Tucker, but looking to see how much it cost/what your experience has been. I need to store our Tucker outside this summer and don't want the tracks to take such a beating from the...

    Insurance for our toys?

That's super interesting, when I called my State Farm agent they said they couldn't do it as Tucker wasn't listed as a snowmobile company for that year. I'll have to try again. Do you guys have stated value on your policies?

    Tucker Ice Keels

Rough ride is right... plus constant paranoia I'm going to break a grouser if I don't support the keel correctly. You both confirmed my suspicions- overkill here in CO, so looks like i'll be having some fun with a grinder here soon!

    Tucker Ice Keels

What is the brain trust’s thoughts around ice keels on a belt track Tucker? My recent acquisition has these, and I’m trying to figure out if the utility of them outweighs the challenge of trailering and moving the cat around flat surfaces (i.e. roads/parking lots, etc). They appear to be welded...

    1977 Tucker 542ASC

Maiden (successful) voyage this past weekend at the CO Snowcat Jamboree! Have some carb related issues that created some challenges when starting when warm, or at altitude that I'll need to address. Also, I've got something binding somewhere it feels like but it's unclear what. So, more to come...

    1977 Tucker 542ASC

Here are some pictures. To be clear, these are the 1" rollers from Tucker; I'm just surprised at how different they are. You'll see the lack of grease fitting as it's now apparently a sealed bearing, and also note the radius difference. It doesn't seem like a lot in the picture, but in real life...

    1977 Tucker 542ASC

Final stretch trying to get her ready for Snowcat Jamboree this weekend! Replaced 25 rollers, and several bushings on the pins, though I have more to do on that front as well as grease the remaining rollers. I made the mistake of removing the track off a pontoon to do the first set of rollers...

Interesting! How much do those run, or do you know?

    1977 Tucker 542ASC

Thanks for the reply and guidance as always :) I pulled a roller off and, if it helps anyone else with a 500 series machine, the roller is .50" ID, ~.10" Wall thickness, .70" (I measured .72" but could be some rust or pitting) OD, and 1" in height. I found some that I think will work on Amazon...

    1977 Tucker 542ASC

The Rockwell 44 hardened versions make sense, though where does one even find these versions? Tucker? They didn't mention them as being available when I asked what they did have around for these old metal tracks. Keeping with the 'whatever works' theme- what DOES work size wise and where have...

    1977 Tucker 542ASC

Dumb question: are the pin roller bushings something special, or just some standard steel spacers like this? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hillman-1-2-I-D-x-5-8-O-D-x-1-1-2-in-Seamless-Steel-Spacer-5-Pack-880421/204726213 I have several that are worn out or missing, and since I'm pulling the...
