A skydiver and a pilot both survived their airborne collision Saturday at a small Florida airport.
Pilot Shannon Trembley, 87, was doing "touch and goes," a plane maneuver where the aircraft touches the ground and then speeds back up, at South Lakeland Airport, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
During one of Trembley's attempts, his plane clipped the parachute lines of 49-year-old John Frost. Both Trembley's private Cessna plane and Frost fell about 75 feet to the ground.
