Ron DeSantis is on a book tour in Iowa, which is traditionally the launch of every Republican candidate. While he has not officially announced, his closest allies have "leaked" that he will run. You gotta see this.

My opinion?

Trump will lose if he attacks DeSantis in an unhealthy way. Unless he embraces DeSantis as a fellow ally, he risks losing.
I am not convinced Trump has it in him at this point to look at the race this way.

He has to pull a rabbit out of his hat. :tiphat:

Likewise DeSantis has to stay on the good side of Trump voters, and not offend them. I think he will be able to do that.

Whoever wins this we all have get on board if we are we are going to save America. No one else will do it for us.

Trump will lose no matter how many rabbits he can pull out of his comb over.

~50% of the voters - democrats - hate Trump
~25% of the voters - republicans - hate Trump

Trump's "base" falls in the "we be extremists" - lots of big rallies (maybe?) but he made such as axxhole of himself the other half turned against him.
I voted for Trump, twice. I'm a conservative - there is however a "reality" - and ignoring it does not make reality go away.

can't disagree with the sentiment - regardless of "good ideas and intentions" - Trump made an axx of himself with his Twitter/et.al. behavior.
he tried, he failed, and he is keeping at the failing. Trump is quite obviously not mature enough to be POTUS.
pains me, but the facts are facts and it is not possible to spin or deny his past and present behavior.

This is the problem.

He was a great President, there were some problems, his betrayal of gun owners is glaring. He also misunderstood how deep the corruption was in the bureaucracy, and senior officials did a great job of undermining him, which should actually have been considered treason. All that said, his conduct is his problem. Literally hated by too many people.

He can actually win the GOP nomination by splitting apart the GOP voters.

But he can't win the national election, not even with vote harvesting, and following the Democratic playbook.

Personally I wish he would play "kingmaker" and step aside, endorsing someone like DeSantis, probably pushing someone like Senator Rand Paul for VP and endorsing a "team."

His influence was not a factor in the mid-terms. He made a lot of political mistakes during the mid-terms that, I believe, undercut his influence. He claims almost all of his endorsed candidates won, but most of his endorsements were for candidates in deep red territory. He totally screwed up in Georgia for 2 elections in a row and could have done a lot better in other high profile elections, instead he actually hurt the GOP.

If Trump wins Republicans need to vote for him holding their nose if needed. If they are too stupid to realize what the Democrats are doing to us God help our nation. I bring a lot of content to this forum hoping at least to make the members aware of the Democrat party Fascist socialist takeover of our nation. .
Trump is not a dumb man. I believe he will NOT run as an independent. He has kept his word when he has given it. To be a part of
debates and such he has to agree to the terms. They say he has to back the winner who ever that is.
I do not think Trump will violate that agreement if he loses in the primary.
I do think he loves this Nation, more than a most.

But the problem is that the INDEPENDENTS actually will determine who wins the general election. The GOP voters and the Democrat voters will cancel each other out. The people in between will swing the election. In the last election the independents voted against Trump. He is no more popular with them today, possibly less popular.

So all the members of the GOP voting together is not enough.

If independents have a brain they will vote GOP anyway. IF they don't understand what is at stake if a Democrat wins, we have already lost.
I believe there a is a growing level of hate developing for Biden and Democrats. I see some prominent Dems fleeing the party.
I do not see and Republicans fleeing our party to become independent or Democrats.
So even smart virtuous Democrats know the progressives are the enemy and Biden is one of them.
2 more years of Biden could tip the scales.

Its been argued out on here so many times I know where each of you stand and I'm sure you know where I stand. I will vote for whoever wins the nomination. May the best man win.
I agree with that.
I also think Trump will become his own worst enemy and will be the one who falls on his sword. Just so you know.

Sorry Mel, but right now Dominion will determine the 2024 election along with ballot harvesting. The Dems control it and use early voting as a barometer to how many votes they need to generate. It's proven, it's a fact. Until this can be brought under control our election process is Third World at best.

I'm still waiting for a concrete answer on how Bidet got 81 Million votes and Trump won more votes that any incumbent in history and lost by 6 Mil. The numbers do not add up.

Much as I might agree with much of what you wrote, the fact of the matter is, ballot harvesting and manipulation or not, it is still IMPOSSIBLE for a Republican to win even if 100% of the living GOP voters cast their votes for that Republican.

The Republicans still need something like 60-65% of the INDEPENDENTS to also vote for the GOP candidate if they want a Republican to win.

To win you still need the votes in the general election. Trump did not have the support of the independents. And absolutely last minute tallies of late cast and mail in makes a huge difference and that works against the GOP, but the even before those numbers were added in, Trump was in pretty serious trouble in many key states and the reason for that was because he lost the independent voters.

...........and I agree with much of what you write as well Mel, but I just cannot get my mind away from the fact that with the majority of the early voting was already counted by 11:00PM on election night with same day voting, traditionally Republican to be counted, did not count and went to Biden. Added to this, Biden only won 524 counties nationally, yet somehow outperformed Obama 8 years earlier in vote count and Obama won 873 counties in 2012. Finally, add to that mathematic statistical modeling used by many financial institutions to predict and understand trends all agree this could not have happened. I'm just saying.

It will not matter who runs for president. The news media is going to decide who is going to win. It will have to be one of the life time politicians, probably democrat. Our vote does not count. Not worth the effort of going to vote.
Now if Trump and DeSantis would team up together it would be worth the effort of voting. They would not win but they would be worth a vote. If the news media decides to let Joe run again he will win. The people's vote does not matter. We will accept what ever they decide.

I refuse to bow down or give into the dark powers that are shadowing our nation through the Democratic party.
I refuse to let the media decide anything for me. I will remember them for their lies and censorship.
I think those that do will by their actions or lack there of will be the the reason why we fail.
Defeated I am not and never will be by those who are bringing us all down.
I am not afraid to tell those who have given up that they are the PROBLEM and the reasons why.
I am a proud American. I wish many more like me were around. :tiphat:

Has anyone heard the latest Hunter joke? Remember the lap top that we were told was a Trump and Russia plant to make Joe look bad?
Well now Hunter is suing the computer repairman for using the lap top to make him look bad. How can the democrats go along with this when they are still trying to say it isn't Hunter's laptop. How are they going to keep the lie alive about it not being Hunter's laptop when he is suing the computer repair man? How is it possible to sue for making him look bad when it is his own words that he wants to say makes him look bad.
Imagine how much of a laugh the other countries are having about the U.S. and this whole thing. First the laptop isn't his. Then the laptop might have been his. Then he is suing a man because of what he put on the laptop himself. These last few years has shown us and the people in other countries how honest the people in the U.S. are.

Yes. VOTE. Even though all signs point to the fact that voting now in this country is an exercise in futility, one must never, ever bow down to the evil bastards who have utterly ruined this country by totally compromising our election system. Staying home gives those scum bum bastards exactly what they want. Fuck them, I'm voting 5 times. LOL,
