Tough Love / True Love

My parents were married for 55 years. One morning, my mom was going downstairs to make dad breakfast, she had a heart attack and fell. My father picked her up as best he could and almost dragged her into the truck. At full speed, without respecting traffic lights, he drove her to the hospital.

When he arrived, unfortunately she was no longer with us.

During the funeral, my father did not speak; his gaze was lost. He hardly cried.

That night, his children joined him. In an atmosphere of pain and nostalgia, we remembered beautiful anecdotes and he asked my brother, a theologian, to tell him where Mom would be at that moment. My brother began to talk about life after death and guesses as to how and where she would be.

My father listened carefully. Suddenly he asked us to take him to the cemetery.
"Dad!" we replied, "it's 11 at night, we can't go to the cemetery right now!"

He raised his voice, and with a glazed look he said: "Don't argue with me, please don't argue with the man...

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.
Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts anyway!
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.
Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.
When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

An old pistenbully200

Dear friends, we have 1 pistenbully200 stored in our warehouse in Europe, and we intend to ship some of its disassembled parts to China, and we will dispose of the rest of the parts. Obviously, many parts of PB are universal, such as hydraulics. If you happen to need help, I can do it. Only a small amount of money is required. I will send you the parts you need.

The power of CASH

copied this from someone else. Very interesting and it really made me stop and think about using cash more often.
I have really never thought of this has anyone else?
Please understand what NOT using cash is doing.
Cash is important.
Why should we pay cash everywhere we can?
with banknotes instead of a credit card?
- I have a $50 banknote in my pocket.
Going to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it. The restaurant owner then uses the bill to pay for the laundry. The laundry owner then uses the bill to pay the barber. The barber will then use the bill for shopping.
After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a $50, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has jumped dry from every cash payment transaction made...
- But if I come to a restaurant and pay digitally - Card, and bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around $1.50 and so will the fee $1.50 for each further...

What Temp Do You Keep Your House?

During these winter months, I was wondering what temperature you heat your house to. We have in-floor heat and use the fireplace in the living room for about 8 hours every day. Our basement (which is used as a classroom-my wife home schools our 9 year old) is kept at 70 degrees while the rest of the house is kept at about 65 degrees (without the fireplace). Heater uses propane.

O.K., how about you guys?

Real or fake?

I'm referring to food things guys...

Av8r mentioned something in the coffee thread about dropping nutrisweet and going back to regular sugar.

My question is, do you use natural ingredients or (if there is one), a man-made substitute?

Some things that come to mind:
Butter or margarine
Sugar or nutrisweet
I'm sure there's 100 others but I can't think of them right now

A grey area is milk (whole, 2%, 1%, skim). Don't drink pop/soda so I don't know what they do for diet/decaf...

Myself - no substitutes for sugar or butter. Instant potatos aren't even allowed in the house (nor hit my plate in a restaurant). Milk is 2% since the MD said it's the best option for the kids (otherwise it would be whole).
