Tough Love / True Love

My parents were married for 55 years. One morning, my mom was going downstairs to make dad breakfast, she had a heart attack and fell. My father picked her up as best he could and almost dragged her into the truck. At full speed, without respecting traffic lights, he drove her to the hospital.

When he arrived, unfortunately she was no longer with us.

During the funeral, my father did not speak; his gaze was lost. He hardly cried.

That night, his children joined him. In an atmosphere of pain and nostalgia, we remembered beautiful anecdotes and he asked my brother, a theologian, to tell him where Mom would be at that moment. My brother began to talk about life after death and guesses as to how and where she would be.

My father listened carefully. Suddenly he asked us to take him to the cemetery.
"Dad!" we replied, "it's 11 at night, we can't go to the cemetery right now!"

He raised his voice, and with a glazed look he said: "Don't argue with me, please don't argue with the man...

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.
Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts anyway!
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.
Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.
When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Dear friends, we have 1 pistenbully200 stored in our warehouse in Europe, and we intend to ship some of its disassembled parts to China, and we will dispose of the rest of the parts. Obviously, many parts of PB are universal, such as hydraulics. If you happen to need help, I can do it. Only a small amount of money is required. I will send you the parts you need.

The power of CASH

copied this from someone else. Very interesting and it really made me stop and think about using cash more often.
I have really never thought of this has anyone else?
Please understand what NOT using cash is doing.
Cash is important.
Why should we pay cash everywhere we can?
with banknotes instead of a credit card?
- I have a $50 banknote in my pocket.
Going to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it. The restaurant owner then uses the bill to pay for the laundry. The laundry owner then uses the bill to pay the barber. The barber will then use the bill for shopping.
After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a $50, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has jumped dry from every cash payment transaction made...
- But if I come to a restaurant and pay digitally - Card, and bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around $1.50 and so will the fee $1.50 for each further...

Let's Bring em Home

I got this from a reputable source. It appears to be an awesome cause. I'm surprised that Bob isn't behind it! ....maybe he is for all I know.

here is the blip:

Last minute request from Let's Bring Em Home LBEH. They have
currently purchased 150 tickets for servicemen E1-E4 using
generous contributions that exceeded their goals by 7500.
dollars this year. Unfortunately as you may guess with the
price of plane tickets being at an all time high this year
for military they still have a number of unfilled requests.
If you can and you have a few extra dollars or airline miles
that you aren't using go to http://www.lbeh.org/?status
and see what your money can do. Give a family the present of
enjoying Christmas with a service man who would be sitting on
a lonely base on Christmas Day.

Free Industrial Signage...

St. Claire Inc., a technical communications company, has a SUPER COOL web page where you can register for free, and by clicking away (picking a heading, symbol and typing in text) you can generate .pdf files of safety signs of all kinds. You can customize safety signs very specifically for any kind of local condition or situation.

Of course, Junkman will probably be making the odd, funny type of industrial signs!

Tookie Watch -- Part Two? -or- The icing on the cake?

My friend Rico304 was too shy to post this so I am doing it for him. I guess he figured it was not appropriate for a police officer to post poetry? The other fellas in blue might think he is getting soft if they knew he was reciting poetry.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through San Quentin, the crips were protesting, and liberals were ventin'.

The cyanide hung by the chamber with care, in hopes that the reaper soon would be there.

The inmates were nestled all snug in their bed ; except for Old Tookie, who soon would be dead.

And me with my beer mug, dressed warm in my flannel, had curled up to watch it, on the Fox News Channel.

I set up my TIVO to record the news station, and thoroughly loved the momentous occasion.

It seemed lady justice had gotten her way, and that there would be one less savage today.

When outside the jail there arose such a clatter, the cameras had turned to see what was the matter.

When what to my civilized eyes did appear...

Holy smokes! I went by a sewing place today to buy my wife one of those fancy schmancy sewing machines that will sew logos on ball caps, shirts etc. I was quoted around $4500 for a Berlinina (sp?) and a Husqvarna and $2500 for some other brand! Is this what it's going to cost?!! Hopefully someone here can help. I'm running out of time to order on eBay as it is! The eBay price was around $1000 to $1500 less for the same model I was finding locally, plus I didnt' pay sales tax; but of course, I'll remit it later when I do my taxes.

Anyone able to help me??? Again; needs are to be able to sew logos and lettering on shirts, caps etc. and do regular sewing. Help!!!!
