Cletis,
I just picked up a 3000# gauge for $25 at a local hydraulics shop. That Cat one is sweet, but I think this one will suffice for my purposes. FYI, they recommend a gauge where your readings will show at 12 o'clock position for best accuracy.
Thanks again Brad for that all.
The front blade is none too fast, so I'm guessing it's not a particularly high flow pump. (But what do I know?)
I've got a new filter to install already. (But I'm still hard pressed to see how back pressure there would only effect one slave. ??)
The steering valves appear to be equally released, and they feel the same. Obviously an internal issue may be present.
I'm beginning to wonder whether the "problem" slave is actually the one that is working correctly. Because it's the opposite (and pitted) slave that returns further. Maybe it is just returning abnormally far because the fluid leaks out.
I'm going to change out the filter, check pressure at each slave and see where things are. If the pressure going to each individual slave is the same, then I'll assume the problem is not in the valving and lines.
