There is a modified Aktiv Snow Master for sale on Ebay. It has a modifed cab, but the modifications to the cab look to be reasonably well done. The interior looks to be in decent shape and it might be a nice snowcat, especially for someone who needs a deep snow/powder machine.

You are bidding on a 1967 Sno Cat in very good condition. VW powered ready to haul supplies and as many as 7 people. Get it now before the snow sticks!

I am listing this for a good friend of mine. The machine is in Southern Utah and ready to be picked up. No glaring flaws or operational problems. It's got your normal dings, minor dents, and scratches to go along with the original glass. It is powered by a VW 1300 cc engine that we believe is newer than '67. It has an alternator. It has at least 30" tracks (we forgot to measure them) but you can tell from the pics that they are plenty wide. Has new gauges and wiring. New headlights were installed and are not the orginal, just much better. There is a rear flood light that is switched from the operator station for backing up and unloading. The rack on the roof allows you too haul plenty of supplies or whatever. It is not in excellent shape but it is in great condition considering it is soon-to-be 40 years old! A lot of work has been done to this and it shows.

This Sno Cat will seat 7 adults if they like each other. Otherwise, you might want to seperate those fighters with a couple of kids and be real comfortable. This was cleaned, rewired, repaired, painted, and thoroughtly checked out just two years ago. It is only used a couple of times each year at the cabin around Duck Creek, Utah.

There is no warranty and no shipping.....must be picked up. It is currently about 4 hours from Las Vegas and arrangements are possible to have the pick up point in Las Vegas for a fee. Please contact me before bidding if this will be necessary.

Check out the pictures..... If you have any questions please contact me. I will get the information for you as quickly as possible.

This is for sale locally at $15000 and therefore the auction may end at any time.

A non-refundable $500 deposit is required following auction. Balance to be paid by cash, bank transfer, or certified funds within 10 days following the auction close. You will not be able to pick up Sno Cat until all funds have been verified by a bank.

Good luck....bid early and often! You won't be disappointed!

Another picture from the Ebay listing on the Aktiv Tracmaster shows some possible track problems starting. Note the weather checking and cracks in the inner track belts on this snow cat. Going to need track work in the future.

This price is a little steep but the reserve may actually be much less. Let the bidding begin.......and the true value will be determined......

I have not priced belting lately so I honestly don't know. It is hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like the 2 inside belts are cracked and the inner and outmost belts might be newer. If that is the case, only 2 of the 4 belts on each side would need to be replaced. If you can reuse all the grousers/etc then it would be a lot of labor next summer punching holes in 2 belts for each side of the machine, plus the cost of the belting. But you'd probably get one and maybe two more seasons out of the existing belts??? That said, I would not use this machine for rescue or remote work with those belts, but for recreational use, those belts would likely be good for another season.

be aware that at some point the front wings have been reduced in width condiderably.

I think if this machine were used in powder you would get a lot thrown at the cab!

The fenders have been cut back the entire length of unit.

There are at least 2 versions of the Snow Master fenders that I am aware of.
  • One version has wide fenders over the ENTIRE lenght of the tracks.
  • Version Two has wide fenders over the FRONT of the tracks but narrows near the cabin and stays narrow to the back.

It looks like this has been re-listed, but not on eBay. It is now for sale on CRAIGSLIST.

Looks like an early 60's vintage. Note the windshield wipers on top, the sprocket configuration, tube construction seat, external brake assembly, no 'big' wheels in the front... It appears to have been pretty well carved up as well. Roof raised, windows all gone, no fenders at all. Seems that the extra wide tracks would be a disadvantage as well. Tough to power those with the VW engine. Lots of rotating mass.

Trackmasters and Snowmasters came from the factory with those wide tracks. They also came with the outboard brakes. Mines a 68 and has the same small wheels in front. Not sure what year they switched to the large. Looks like a going machine to me. The drive sprockets sure are pointy though.

Interesting. I didn't realize the tracks came that wide in a stock model. I've seen 16" and 19" but not anything approching 30". Will that put it over the 8'6" limit for DOT?
