Armed CIVILIANS to patrol AZ border and do Government's job

If the government won't step up and do the job then apparently the civilian militia will step in and do what the the government is supposed to do. I would suspect that Federal prosecutors will file murder charges against anyone of these folks who, while doing the duty of the government, happens to kill someone in a firefight, even if it was in self defense.

PINAL COUNTY, AZ (KOLD) - A group of citizens plans to arm themselves with heavy weaponry and patrol the Vekol Valley area of Pinal County, looking for drug smugglers entering the country. They plan to conduct their patrol operation from 3:00pm Saturday to 3:00pm Sunday.

"We're going to block off the narcoterrorists that come up through this area," said Mesa resident Jason "J.T." Ready, who is organizing the gathering.

Ready says volunteers are coming from all over Arizona, and even out of state, to support the effort.

"This is the Minuteman Project on steroids," Ready explained. "We've got people with assault weapons. We will use lawful, deadly force where appropriate."

But Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu responds, "Though I appreciate their support and offer to take up arms and patrol, this would not be helpful, and would only cause a strain on already strained resources, and their safety needs to be a priority. I do not ask or encouraged them to come here."

The Vekol Valley area has become a highly-trafficked corridor for drug runners. The situation has become so dangerous that signs now warn people to stay away. Not far from the area, a Pinal County sheriff's deputy was shot and injured in late April.

Ready has ties to extremist groups, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, including a neo-Nazi group known as the National Socialist Movement. Ready has denied the group is neo-Nazi.

Yup I agree.

Some potential big issues too. Let's say the militia group encounters people smugglers and the people are largely unarmed, but the smuggler may have a gun and shoots . . . the militia group opens up and there will be a lot of illegals shot and killed that may deserve to be turned back but certainly not shot. An international incident of modest proportions.

Scenario #2, the militia group encounters drug smugglers who have FULLY automatic weapons and the militia is simply outgunned. Dead guys on both sides and an international incident of modest proportions.

Scenario #3, the militia group encounters drug smugglers who are escorted by the Mexican Military and a firefight breaks out. Dead guys on both sides and if a Mexican Army regular is killed on American soil then we may have an international incident of major proportions.

There is one more, Mexican Military engages with Armed US militia and many killed on both sides leaving proof in the form of dead Mexican Military. Now that could start a war between the US and Mexico which I really don't see as much of a treat to us but even so it ties up US forces needed in other things around the world as our military is shrinking as well as the expense which we can't afford. Before long you have other countries coming to the aid of Mexico so it could snowball. WWI was started by a unknown of royal decent, getting killed.

I also have my doubts about militias being trained as good as a 3rd world nation like Mexico's Army as I doubt many could handle the average National guard unit even if they out numbered the NG by 4 to 1.

Allthough I know there are a lot of fanatics & gun totin wannabes & used to think its not a good deal , Mostlly because of the threats of trying to overtake the government most of us aint to happy with anyway .

This is a much different matter IMO , This aint about government , its about pissed off good american people doing what they need to do to & are willing to risk their lives to do it to protect our borders , because no one else will .

Sure theres gonna be some trigger happy people & it could get worse then better if its more that type then the ranchers & farmers & regular good folks protecting what is rightfully theres .

No different then if some of this scum thats allowed to come in our country comes on my property , wont be no need for body bags & I aint worryed about going to prison for what I beleive in . No other country puts up with it that i,m aware of including mexico , WTF were not allowed the same rights .

I,m just about to say fuck it & forget about what we have here & join the fuckers to protect our borders because its only a matter of time & we,ll have the same problems & were in the dead ass center of the USA & it,s been ignored here for far to long . They have gang units in the bigger citys around here that are to fuckin afraid to deal with the problem . Dodge citys not even able to deal with it FFS .

Sorry I,m more pissed at my self for avoiding whats actually going on in the last several years only worrying about My own familly & the little bit we have . I,m about as a layed back guy as you can get , & I,m pissed if Ya cant tell . Cant find a smilie for how I really think .

I agree with you Cowboy and as I said in another thread, my home town was taken over without a single shot but lots of help from both sides of the isle with our elected officials.

My only worry is with the training of these "militia people" as if they train by watching TV or movies many of them I'm afraid will wind up dead before it is over.

Now I'm willing to risk my life fighting for my home, I'm just not willing to throw it away to prove a point. They may also be well armed with a semi auto AK47 and AR15 but odds are they run into some real bad group with fully auto, military trained bad guys. That just isn't a fair fight for a civilian militia in most cases. It has been done but a lot will lose their lives before they can actually become seasoned troop.

I seem to hear a distant rumble from Golead and Los Alamos.
