Snotrac in Homer Alaska for sale

Here is a Snotrac that was for sale in Homer, Alaska. The track is rotten and has strips of belting added to the outer edges to keep it together, the right rear wheel is out of the guides, so don't know if it came out of the tracks or some other action. The interior looks a tad rough, as does parts of the exterior. The seller is asking $3,500.00 which to me is a bit high, but it has been sitting there for some time, don't even know if the engine is there/runs.

It has a small capstan winch on the front, don't know if it is electric or hydraulic, but it is different. The side windows have been replaced with snap-in plastic windows.

Overall, it is either a good project for someone or a parts source for someone else. Don't have any need for one now, but figured I would put the word out on it.

Let the proxy war begin!

Oh, the area code for the phone number is 907 for Alaska.... and remember that Alaska is a few hours behind the rest of America...

Hey foggy did you happen to take a close-up photo of the data plate or look at the serial number? The for sale sign says it is a 1958!

No, I was in a hurry as I was getting parts for the boat I was getting ready for a job out in the inlet.

I am in Seward right now getting another boat ready, may be in Homer in a day or two and maybe I can do a quick run over and take some more photos of it if I can get some wheels. I don't doubt it was a '58 though, looked like an old six volt battery inside and then there is one by the driver's window outside, that is a 12 volt just sitting there.... as is a bunch of flower pots.

3500$ Doesn't seem high to me. The parts alone are worth more than that,...14 Wheels @ 100$,=1400, (4) Variator top Chives @ 500 @= 2000, that's 3400 for just the first 2 items! As a whole machine it has potential too. What are 160 Grousers, and twice that many guides worth? (25 for grouser, 15 for guide)
Boogie should buy it for parts, and use it for patterns! It would probably pay for it's own shipping.
If I was a "bettin-man", !'d say it will be gone this afternoon.

Well.. did anyone get it?

Where abouts in Homer is this thing located? I'll be down there over next weekend and I'd like to go see it. I'm not interested in buying it, :whistling: but I can check it out if someone else is interested.

I don't remember the road name, but it is the road that heads up to where the Gear Shed is located, it is about five hundred yards before that if I recall correctly on the downhill side of the road, it is sitting about four hundred feet back off the road in a little area and can be seen from the road.

I belive that this is the location up East End Road just before the intersection of East Bear Creek Drive: LINK
