Microsoft Live Tune UP.....

Is anyone familiar with a new Microsoft product called "Live Tune UP"?

Get a free safety scan for your computer
It's like taking your PC in for a tune-up and oil change at the service station. Windows Live Safety Center is a free, Web-based service that gives you quick, on-demand PC health and security scans. It also has straightforward explanations about online threats and a vibrant online community where you can get answers to questions about your PC.

I ran the program and at the end, you have the choice to download the program to your computer. The only hitch is that you have to first un-install Norton Anti-virus to do so. I have not been able to find the answer to the question...... Do you reinstall Norton afterwards? I did a complete scan of my computer with Norton when I installed the latest version last week and did a complete Norton update. My computer was clean. After running the Microsoft program, it found 5 virus's on my computer and removed them. I am wondering why my computer was infected since it was scanned last week and all Norton protections are in place. One of the virus's was Win32/Mydoom.O@mm .... Does anyone know if the Microsoft new program replace Norton or can you have both running at the same time and the only reason it requires Norton to be removed is for the install process. Thanks Junk....

The only thing i know about Norton is that it doesn't want to work with other programs. It likes to take over everything. I would get rid of it and just use AVG and another firewall. I use freebie stuff and have never had a problem. My sister had problems with her computer so i got rid of Norton then downloaded AVG,zone alarm, and Microsoft spyware. No problems since then.
Make sure you set them to automatically run and update.
