Saw this on another forum.

The Bogert Tank Track Puller is a hydraulic track repair tool developed by Bogert International designed to make it easier, faster, and safer for crews to pull the tracks together when doing track repair.

Using a hydraulic pump, the operator can operate the track puller at a safe distance and away from danger while the tracks are being pulled together in a matter of seconds, compared to when using the standard mechanical jack which takes up to 30 minutes with high risk of injury.

Looks to me like a guy could build one (for a snowcat at least) from some steel and a porta-power. Make a frame to grab the track ends, then use a ram to push on the opposite ends and draw the tracks together... ???

some work better than others on different machines. the pistenbully I use the screw clamp type that pb gave me and a very small 300lb chain puller is ideal for my snow trac.
