Tornadoes touched down last night right where she lives. Hope she's okay.

Yep, just by the skin of our teeth.
Grover Hill and Van Wert are those pictured.

Frightening.
I was at work at the time.

Did you take those pictures of the funnel cloud?

No, they are two of many I found last night both on our local weather channel's site as well as it's Facebook page.

I didn't have time to take pictures Jerry.. I was too busy worrying about helping get our residents and patients to their safe places.

Damn. Scary stuff. I knew the storms were north west Ohio but didn't realize it was in your neighborhood. Wow. Glad you and the residents are all okay. :thumb:

Glad that you and Gretchen are OK. Those things are freekin' scary. More than once we've been under the house. Once you get there, you know that you're pretty darned safe but .....

At your facility, where do you shepherd your patients to be safe?

Many of them were already in bed, so then we close the window blinds and pull the privacy curtain around, then close their doors.
Those that tend to wander and are little stinkers are kept with us.
We have many areas throughout the facility that are designated safe places.
The east wings have a med room, 2 storage rooms and a public restroom.
The west wing has a shower room, med room and therapy/weight room that are all enclosed with no outside walls.
Rehab has a large shower, boiler room and med room.
The assisted living folks know to already get to the big break room in the basement before it gets bad, or to go to the 1st floor rest rooms or to go into someone elses room and get in their bathroom with the door closed.

It's quite a scramble!:yum:

How many residents are there?

Depends on the census.
125 to 130 depending on if private rooms are used as private and not shared.
That night 23 staff members counting nurses/aides/laundry and janitorial staff on 4 nursing home wings, rehab unit and assisted living.

That's a lot of people to keep safe. I worked in hospitals when I was in college. I remember the fire drills etc.

Not to keep going on with this thread, it's passed it's time.

Just wanted to share this.

It's a video a young man shot from the mall in Defiance, Ohio looking east down North Clinton St, out in the area of where the GM foundry is and beyond in Cecil, Ohio.
It was linked into my son Ty's Facebook page.
Just to give you an idea, and I expect many have seen it already.
