Made a set of Track jacks for the Imp

New to cats, and figured I better get a set of jacks. Since I didn't find much out there, and heard of some rumors of horrible prices, I decided to kill off Saturday morning off with a DIY project.

About 3 hrs later, and about $100 bucks poorer-

-Used 1 1/4" x .072" wall thickness square tubing and 1 1/2" x .072" wall thickness square tubing for the sliding end and backbone.

-3/4" Acme threaded rod and nuts for the screw.

-Welded on a 3/4" deep socket for the 3/8" drive end.

-A few washers, and a few cotter pins to finish off.

If anyone wants dimensions, give me a shout. It seams to work good on my Imp's track. As far as I can tell, I didn't screw it up!

Fully open it is about 24". 3" of clearance for the growsers. They weigh about 5 pounds each.

They seem to be stout enough. I was a little worried about the .072 wall, but now that they're done, I'm glad I didn't go heavier.

Those look great! I only got one factory jack with my cat so I have been making do with two 8" Harbor Freight c-clamps. Looks like I have another project.
