I've seen a couple versions too. Certainly more talent than I have - I can't juggle one ball!
That said, I'm pretty much convinced of the theory that he uses a preprogrammed system such that he can hit anywhere on the "keyboard" and get the next note in the sequence.
Also, it seems this guy supposedly copied the act from the "piano juggler"; not sure who actually came first, but both do exist.
