On Tuesday, CNN aired footage of a Trump-supporting focus group watching the now infamous James Comey interview for the first time.

The group, made up of members of the South Carolina Republican Party, were unimpressed, even disgusted, by what they saw. Comey spent an hour with ABC's George Stephanopoulous complaining about the place he found himself in during the 2016 presidential campaign. He was in a lose-lose situation having to investigate Hillary Clinton's emails, decide not to pursue charges against her, and, having found new emails, decide when to reopen the case.

They were particularly taken aback, for instance, by Comey claiming he felt alone and uncomfortable both during the election and while serving under President Trump.

"There was no evidence of any pity" for him, the CNN narrator noted.

A
Sarcastic boohoos and awws could be heard throughout the room.

This was our FBI director? A “weak,” “thin-skinned,” “lily-livered,” “little man?”

"The head of the FBI doesn't feel uncomfortable," one female attendee explained. "That's sort of lily-livered. It's not what I would expect from a man."

For standing 6 feet, eight inches tall, Comey is a "little man," according to another attendee. "He diminished the office of the FBI."

The focus group was especially incensed when Comey called Trump "morally unfit" for the presidency.

Comey was the "top cop," one woman said. If he truly thought Trump was unfit, why didn't he capitalize on a chance to act?

Comey has continued his media tour, even doing live studio interviews with NBC and ABC, and late night talk shows.

This group of Republicans was pretty peeved after watching the ABC interview, but the ire against Comey wasn't limited to that room. Hillary Clinton's fans have been giving the former FBI chief a piece of their mind too.

Clinton Spokesman Slams Comey as Attention Hog

President Trump, his associates and his supporters are not alone in their criticisms of former FBI Director James Comey's new book tour. Hillary Clinton's allies are peeved too.

Nick Merrill, who served under Clinton at the State Department and worked on her 2008 and 2016 presidential campaigns, is slamming Comey for "profiting" off the email and Russia investigation scandals.

"Profiting indeed," Merrill tweeted. "850,000 copies of his book have been printed and will likely sell, with scores of paid speeches on leadership that will accompany that. But yes, Hillary Clinton is the one that should go away."

He had specific gripes about Comey's decision to break FBI precedent and hold a public press conference about the agency's investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of state. Comey didn't charge her, but he did give voters a whole laundry list of reasons why they should not vote for Clinton. The former secretary of state and her team were "extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information," Comey said during the press briefing.

On Twitter, Merrill said Comey's character assassination of Clinton was uncalled for.

While Clinton thought she had escaped the worst, Comey came back 11 days before the presidential election to announce the FBI had reopened the investigation, having found a new crop of emails. The New Yorker has reported that Comey was privy to the "new" emails weeks earlier. "Why did he sit on the information for so long, until right before the election?" Merrill wondered.

Comey's integrity, if not already jeopardized after his handling of the investigations, has certainly been upended after the ABC interview because he "allows any questions that might have provided some clarity to slide right off of him."

I hope that he ends being hung by his short hairs for his leaking of classified information and his failure to pursue a indictment of Hilary for doing the same.
