State route 14 finally repaired after damage from TS Irene on August 28. 9 1/2 weeks of work to repair the extensive damage. We had alternate routes out of town so any inconvenience was minor by comparison to what others have suffered here with.

Roads that followed the creeks were easier to build years ago but do take a beating from heavy flooding. We had some get damaged around here but the bridges that washed away are still causing major headaches. Some of the town roads in Pa. will likely take years to get funding to repair them. They have reduced the weight limits on our one bridge to 3 tons which is an empty pickup truck. :hammer:

Yeah, there are many roads here that follow the creeks and rivers. Lot's of damage, temp bridges. Anybody the last 10 weeks that owns heavy equipment around here has been very busy.
