This is a strange one. Parents get their little darlings all decked out for cheer, then a guy with no kid there was arrest for the video he made.

The guy is an idiot. But in the legal sense, shouldn't the parents be busted for not having those girls in burkhas or something?

Having been a band parent for 6 years, which means we see cheerleading too, I can say some of the outfits border on not enough there.......... Some of the dances border on take a peak..........I did say some!

Having a dud at an event with no kids there, in either squad, dance or band, and not having a child taking part in any of the event, unless he is related in some way...............would be odd. Fact is, we had a hell of a time getting parents there at some things. Having this same dud taking video (apparently not of the whole squad, but of parts of a participant) would be considered by me as wrong. Legally he can do this and sell it, since it is a public event so to say. Would the group of parents we were involved with allow it, hell no. He would have been escorted out, which could be how he got caught................Having video tape like is suggested would be enough to check further I would think.

I agree that the cheerleading outfits, and the Jr. and high school girls tend to be a tease, but these young girls are hoping to catch the eye of boys their own age. Not older potbellied dads and grand dads.
They would probably shiver with the gross feeling they got from old guys
"taking a peek" There's a difference in cute little girls and cute big girls.

I was a cheerleader for my highschool back in '76 and '77.
Yes we wore tight sweaters and short pleated skirts and did all the usual high kicks and dances and stuff.
Not once did I ever think there would be a pervy male watching us/me in the crowd at events, because this was at a Catholic highschool for one.
For another, my Dad OR brother OR boyfriend at that time would have gone over and ripped the balls off any man who'd have been giving an impression remotely suggesting they were leering, perving or thinking such thoughts.

Cheerleaders are just that.. they are there to take part in team spirit and to hopefully work up the crowd to do the same.
Anyone who does otherwise needs to keep his ass at home and rent Cheerleader Nymphs or some such shit and stay away from the general public.
Gag.. puke..:glare:

Dud is the perverted sob that would do this. Dude would be the parent that rips his ass apart, then shoves the camera up his ass, as he is throwing him out of the event.

Back in 76 I was in high school too, and yeah I watched cheerleading and the cheerleaders, all guys did. Those were much simpler times, better times, and more fun. Today we all have to watch for this kind of activity. When my daughter was in band, we watched for people we did not know.

Having or not having a child or relative in the event is irrelevant. It does not give one anymore rights than anyone else. I photograph many high school events and post the images online for parents to purchase -- or freelance for the local papers. In either case, I don't have any kids in these games, yet I am not breaking any laws.

It all comes down to expectation of privacy. Now, I have not seen the video, so it's hard to really comment, but if this guy was hiding, or had the camera hidden, then he is violating the expectation of privacy.

I can stand on a public street and photograph your home legally -- however, if I put on a large telephoto lens and take a picture of you in the bathroom, I have now violated the "expectation of privacy" provision.

You mean there are no Catholic's that are pervs? I was under the impression many Priests have been known for this type of behavior -- except with young boys. :bonk:

Very good point. The thing we have to remember is that to others it most likely looked like he was filming the competition. The others spectators could not see he was zoomed in on Chipper Cheerleaders ass instead of the whole group. He was a news guy. His being there is easy to explain. He's still a sick perv. We should be happy they caught this one!

Not sure this is the best thread for wise cracks, but that was funny and true.

I have to disagree with you here. While his cracks might not be quite stage worthy... they were funny... and as much as I TRY to be nice to you and like you.... I still find you creepy and whiny. I would love for my opinion to change so please feel free to act normal any time now.:thumb:

Its laughable this guy got arrested. I dont see he did anything illegal. Wierd and pervy but not illegal. The parents should be arrested for letting their kids dress like that.

there were some when we were band parents that NO WAY would my kid have worn the uniform of the dancers or the cheerleaders...........

as for the guy, I would guess he had more, and more hardcore stuff to be arrested.

I feel the same way Sushi. The cheerleaders right on down to elementary school are dressed just as revealing as the highschool girls. I really don't think the parents should condone their girls dressed and dancing in a way that screams sex beyond their years of comprehension. You can't put it out there and advertise it, then scream pervert when you know damn good and well she is dressed too sexy for her age.

I hate to burst yer bubble, but I know WHO you are talking about, but I know NOTHING about this alleged story telling. It's obvious you don't know what some people have heard... because we have heard NOTHING. Your replies to threads give me the creeps sometimes. It has NOTHING to do with anyone else on this site.

THERE is the whining again. I would spend more time looking for the jar my balls were in if I were you.

Back on topic somewhat.... I am not a big fan of cheerleaders as a whole. Both my high school and college squads were jokes. REAL cheerleaders are cool though. My uncle was a yell leader on K-States back in the 80's.

If this was a public event, then there is no way the charges could stick in front of a jury, regardless of how perverted the guy is. Unless he was taking shots in the dressing room or other private area outside of the "Event".

I doubt he will fight the judge's ruling because it is basically a slap on the wrist as it is. If there was a slim chance that the charges stuck should he take it to court, he would be labeled a "Sex Offender" for life. Although I would not be surprised though if some lawyer defends him and gets the Judge's ruling overturned and the charges dropped.

I don't care for that kind of scum, and if the event was in fact able to provide such "Perversions" for photos/films, then those in charge of the event should have been hauled in too. You can't have it both ways in the same photo opt...

Yup. This is usually the type of situation where a handful of the town dads take this guy out "for a couple drinks" while the cops simply record "It was another quiet night" in their log books.
