Most old guard politicians hate the tea party as the main goal is to take back the country from the politicians. Repubs and dems.

Politics is full of hate and vitrol and with the bias from the media (on both left and right) it is hard for a person to find out the facts.

Yes, I suspect Boehner and McConnell are secretly cursing the Tea Party too.

Turf all those incumbent scum out in 2012.

I agree. Good points! I wouldn’t exactly call myself ‘apolitical,’ but I don’t adhere to any particular party as a rule. I don’t vote, on principle, because although I may lean towards agreeing with some of the policies in a party’s manifesto, there’s generally a lot I don’t agree with. I might fight tooth and nail, verbally of course, for any and all parties manifesto points, at one time or another, but it doesn’t mean that I want to be a part of their culture or their ‘club.’

I do kinda lean to the centre right, I think; and although I most certainly have a somewhat passionate social conscience, it doesn’t lead me to want to vote for a socialist manifesto. The thought of living under communist rule, and I personally don’t differentiate between the two (and altho neither is not on a par with Islamic rule), they are close runner up’s in what can generate fear in me.

As for the media, well, they have their own agenda’s, and to a great extent they manipulate tradition, if not policies, and certainly politically. Altho they do have their ‘literary’ hands tied in some area’s; and they have to bow to some form of socio-political suppression of information, often, they can, and do cause immense strife, pain and heartache around the world without a thought, or care for the damage that they often cause.

On the other hand; without a free press, we would all be susceptible to that which our forefathers were; cowed under fiefdoms, ignorant and most likely semi illiterate; ‘witches,’ religious and political dissenters, and others would still be being burnt at the stake and we’d still be hanging 5 year olds for stealing a loaf of bread.

Vice President Joe Biden agreed "with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle, D-Pa., at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting" that congressional tea party members "acted like terrorists" in the way they stood against attempts to raise taxes and reduce spending as part of the debt-ceiling deal.

Sources in the room told The Politico that in a closed-door meeting of House Democrats with Vice President Joe Biden, Rep. Mike Doyle (D-PA) said:
"We have negotiated with terrorists. This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money... “the Tea Party acted like terrorists in threatening to blow up the economy."
like that ? then you'll love this............

House Democrats who have also been using the word "Satan" in describing negotiations with House Republicans, with Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) calling the debt ceiling deal a "Satan sandwich" and House minority leader Nancy Pelosi adding "with a side of Satan fries."As the debt ceiling debate came to a final close, Tea Party members were also called "arsonists," "saboteurs," and "extortionists" by Democratic politicians and journalists.

so, a balanced budget and fiscal responsability with smaller govt. means you're a terrorist ? This should really give people insight into the shallow, self serving attitude of liberal/progressives.

I think it will ultimately backfire.

Poll after poll shows that more Americans share the values of the Tea Party groups than of the liberal politicians. But it seems to me that picking on the Tea Party is showing how extreme many in congress have become.

exactly, and it's only going to get worse when the republicans that are dug into the washington money/power feel threatened because they may lose some of it. Liberals are already freaking out:clap:

All the so called "tea party" is, are what used to be called the "Silent Majority". Regular tax paying Americans that are fed up with the status quo we're getting from DC. So when these goofballs use disparaging language to describe the tea party they're talking about red blooded every day Americans. I say let them run their mouths, we can talk back next November.
