BROTHER IN-LAWS NODWELL SALVAGING SUNKEN CAT

my brother in-law is trying to put in 200 km winter road in the great white north. the nodwell is working very well but it find this soft spot for his john deere cat. oh well it only took 3 cats and the nodwell to salvage the cat. he says winter he would be toast with out the nodwell for packing. it is avery bad winter in the great white north because of too much snow and not enough frost. he is also looking at getting my buddy out there with his J5 to pack the bad swampys.

Hey King, interesting and unfortunate photos. We have a thread that might be interested viewing, it is a series of similar photos.

We also have a thread here about a Snow Trac that fell through the ice on an river in Alaska. That is a pretty amazing rescue with dozens of photos and a great description of how they pulled the Snow Trac back up to the surface through a hole in the ice.

thansk, they guys up here are pretty safe when you work on the highways projects. the rule and regs will drive a guy nuts, but it saves lifes too.

we find around here it is alcohol that causes most deaths on machines. they get all drunk up and then go for a boot on a fast snow machine and end up driving in to open water on a frozen lake.

the J5 has a custom cab and roof hatch for easape. all my cats have tails and no cabs.

OK, a couple of us want to know...

How did that 450H (pictured) pull right up to the spot the other fell in?

yes they had all the equipment up to where the cat fell in, it is just a small creek thru the swamp and the cat fit nicely into it. wow is all i can say, LOL

The way to build a cross country trail is to wait until Dec, then plow all of the snow off of it so the cold can go down into the ground. Then let the trail sit there for at least 30 days and then use it. The snow keeps an unbelievable amount of heat in the ground. The top might be froze, but it's not frozen very deep as you'll find out when you start putting heavy equipment on it.
