I enjoy politics, religion (Christendom), philosophy, reading, music, good food, laughing, and
having a good time.

I try to keep at least "four books going" all the time to keep it interesting.

I have read some in Michael Walsh's The Devil's Pleasure Palace: The Cult Of Critical Theory and
the Subversion of the West. On page 1 Walsh says "Critical Theory, like
Pandora's Box, released a hoard of demons into the American psyche."

That don't sound to good does it.

Walsh continues, "when everything could be questioned, nothing could be real."

Wow that's really scary (reminds me of Washington, D.C.)

__________

Music is one of the blessings of life. I'm listening to Englebert Humperdinck sing "My Way"
as I type this Intro.

_________

I like Victor Davis Hanson's military histories. I have his "The Savior Generals: How Five
Great Commanders Saved Wars That Were Lost -- From Ancient Greece To Iraq."

On singing: Andre Bocelli and Pavarotti are ultra-cool.

Food: I like filet mig's for my steak.

Politics: Is the GOP and the DONK Party the GOP-DONK Party? . . .lol . .

Does America have only one political party? :ermm:

Was that old culture warrior Patrick J. Buchanan right? . . .

. . . when he said years ago, "The Republican Party and the
Democratic Party are the two wings of the same bird of prey."__PJB

Time will tell if Pat was, or was not, incorrect.

__________

Here is two tidbits from literature, that I like:

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."___J.R.R.
Tolkien.

_______

"Such is the nature of evil. Out there in the vast ignorance
of the world it festers and spreads. A shadow that grows
in the dark. A sleepless malice as black as the oncoming wall of night.
So it ever was. So will it always be. In time all foul things
come forth."__ Thranduil, The Elven King of Mirkwood

_______

Favorite Bible Verse:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through him. John 3: 16-17

Anyway, that's a little bit about me and what I enjoy.

Thanks for having me here.

Thank you.

You all have a nice place here. Its very upbeat
and cheerful. Lots of pretty colors here and there
as well. Good looking forum layout too.

You can thank Doc for the appearance, he runs the joint.

After you take a look around, feel free to jump in. I spend a lot of time in the a few areas, not much time in other areas.

Welcome. Lord of the Rings fan I see. Me too. I have read the trilogy 3 times in my life. Gets better each time you read it. Maybe one more will be in order.

A Literary Moment:

"War - - - I know it well, and the butchery of men.
Well I know, shift to the left, shift to the right
my tough tanned shield. That's what the real drill,
defensive fighting means to me. I know it all,
how to charge in the rush of plunging horses, ---
I know how to stand and fight to the finish,
twist and lunge in the War-god's deadly dance."

~ Thanks for the welcome.

~ Tolkien never gets old. I go through the 6 movies
(LOTH & The Hobbit) quite often. I thumb through the
text and read in spots.
