pretty sure it was done, long before there was such a thing, as the internet, it works like it was built just yesterday...

I remember reading about that machine as well, have you got a link for that Sno-drifter? Love seeing the pics, can't even imagine how cool that must be to take a cat through the mountains. Nice to see snow as we are still snowless in western NY...

Heading up to Cloud Cap again in the morning and taking a photographer friend and another friend. We just had another dump of fresh snow and the temps are cold so it should be real light powder all the way up.

Wow that is so cool. Me and my daughter went camping up there last summer. I'm almost finished restoring my 1966 543. I would like to take mine on a Shakedown run before McCall and all cats. Do you need special permission to go up to Cloud Cap?

To get inside of it you need to know someone with a key. To just sno cat up there you just need to know the secret passage. I'd be happy to escort sometime.

Had a chance this summer to go up to Cloud Cap Lodge with the crag rats, who have leased the lodge from the USFS since the 50's, the lodge is the oldest building on Mt Hood, predates Timberline by some 50 years, amazing history, which includes, a proposed project in 1930 to build a Tram to the peak of Mt Hood on the north side of the mountain...the brochure and poster are truly unbelievable.

Those photos are very cool. Look like real antique glass plate black and whites. If not for the jet trails I would be convinced they were taken in the 20's.

those are 22 inch rims, and the only tire in that size, is so undersized, it looks terrible and just too small to run on the bus safely

the weird thing about the radials, the steering and tracking is vastly improved and feels pretty close to having power steering.

do have 2 sets of original Goodyear tires... just can not bring myself to putting them on something that I drive.

At the time you were abusing your kids, making them survive in the wilderness. VW buses rule.

Not jet trails, Charles Lindbergh was practicing for his 1927 flight.
