The American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual survey on the price of traditional Thanksgiving foods revealed a drop in the average price of dinner for families.

“Since 2015, the average cost of Thanksgiving dinner has declined steadily and is now at the lowest level since 2010,” AFBF Chief Economist Dr. John Newton said in a statement.

The survey, which counted up the cost of classic Thanksgiving foods like turkey, sweet potatoes, bread rolls, cranberries, pumpkin pie mix and more, indicates that the average cost of this year’s meal for 10 is $48.90.

Went to Walmart to pick up a couple jugs of Mobil 1.
Wife says let's check out turkey prices.
She's looking at butterballs, etc, and a big mean looking black guy with a thunderous voices sounds out, "Hey, come here!" I can see she's concerned, but then the guy breaks out the nicest smile and motions her over. He knew he scared her a bit.
They were just marking down an end cap of Turkeys. 5 bucks each. He took 3, we took 2. Happy Thanksgiving sir!

Since 2014 net farm incomes have fallen by over 50%.

Today the "managed funds" have all time record short positions in all of the grains. They sold what they do not own, dropping prices to new lows.

Happy Thanksgiving? Not so much in farm country.

Regards, Kirk
