How the Welfare State Correupted Sweden

That is an excellent article - worth reading and worth heeding the results of socialism's effects on Swedish society. You can see it happening here too - you never see kids out working any more - mowing lawns, etc. They all want their parents to supply everything for them.

I was wondering if anyone else would read it. Some how I knew you would appreciate it.

My neighbor had 4 teenage or older sons(16-23). They are all living at home either full time or part-time. He occasionally hires illegal mexicans to do his yard work.

It's a sad state of affairs.

He should tell the kids the are going to get sent to Mexico and that he is going to adopt the Mexicans since they will actually get some work done around the house - that ought to stir something up.

As already noted by jdw, it can be seen here. Both in politics as well as large numbers of the population.

Oh no - that would be much too harsh on his little princesses (er . . princes). The funny thing is that he's out there working in the yard harder than his kids ever would.

Here in MA recently there has been talk of raising the minimum wage up to something like $9 an hour. I keep hearing people make those same comments that the Swedish kids make - you know stuff like "you have a RIGHT to have a decent earning job" and crap like that. This sort of stuff really makes me mad - in the end it is just an excuse to be a lazy piece of crap. If you want to be a layabout that is fine - but you can't expect somebody else to work to pay for your slacker lifestyle - in the end that is slavery because you are forcing those working people to pay for the losers who don't.

The only solace I have in all of this is that I know there is a subculture of people out there in this country who have enough guns buried underground to make a hell of a fight if the goverment ever tried to actually force this crap down our throats. Over time those people get less and less though as the young of our society fall prey to the slacker welfare state. Sooner or later the goverment and it's socialist minions will win thru simple attrition. Then we will all die off - the animals will take over the continent again - and a future civilization's archeologists will dig up the remains of our society and wonder what happened to us. Hell - why am I working so hard - I should just go on disability, collect my food stamps and then I will have plenty of time to march in protests to demand more benefits from the government.
