Buddy of mine is working on getting his pilots license to fly private jets.

Last thing I need to see right now is a story about a fatal private plane crash. Glad this this was a story about something dumb instead.

I've known that happen to a couple of people, one in a small private plane and one in a helicopter. Both lived although both still carry the scars, physical and psychological. It's so easy to do, one unthinking moment and it's over.
