I have access to wooden pallets from time to time. I cut some up, store some equipment on them and other items for ease of moving.
I've heard some people make things out of them. I was just curious to see if anyone has any ideas and pictures on how they would use them.

I built a shed once by nailing pallets to the upright 4x4 posts, as a base for the T-111 siding. I've also used them to make work benches. (2 slat style under a solid top) someone else nails 4 of them in a "box" as a way to store and transport firewood by the 1/4 cord. (and they stack) The "solid" packing dividers/crate sides can be used as wainscoting, stall lining, or half height barn doors.

Stand them up (with a stick from behind to hold in place) and staple your paper targets to them. When they're too far gone to staple anymore, burn what's left and put up a new one.

All my firewood is stored on them.

As you should be!!!

Don't you know that you could have put 2 pallets side-by-side and did a better job?!?!

I'm disappointed in you Bob...

Only needed it wide enough to string a fence line; wasn't trying to clear the land!

I forgot to add - i used to use them to make "this end up" style furniture, as well. Have an old roommate who is still using the kitchen hutch I made about 12 years ago...

Bobcat,

Boy, and you were questioning my "transportation"?? hehe So did you get all the bumps "groomed" out?

AW,

That was really good. I sent it to my son.. give him some ideas. He is going to build a temp. sidewalk with them until summer rolls around.. :whistling:

Wut?

Yup, did pretty good (as in surprisingly good :rolf2:), but because of the heat, couldn't finish all of the property. Now that it's a bit cooler, I can take another shot at it.

I use about a dozen or so in my gravel floored pole barn to stack firewood on.

It's not very original but does that count as creative?

Some of the items I have made from pallets.........
A rabbit hutch
A tool box for my Scammell lorry
Sheep hurdles
Flooring to keep bales of hay off the damp floor in the shed
Bird boxes
Large gate for my yard - about 12foot across (very heavy, but it did the job, now replaced by a galvanised gate, and now in the field separating the two halves)
Small gates (2) - still in use
Flower boxes
Temporary fencing
Numerous other uses, but can't think of them right now - I still have a collection of pallets for future use - think this qualifies as 're-using' for the 'green brigade'! Does this give you a few ideas?
