The ultra-progressive group Demand Justice released a list of 32 potential nominees for the Supreme Court. They want Democrat presidential candidates to adopt this list or to release one of their own. This is what then-candidate Donald J. Trump did in 2016 to good effect.
I agree. Release the list! If the list(s) adopted by any of the Democrat candidates is anything like the Demand Justice list, it will be full of radicals, with little judicial experience, chosen to appease constituent groups.

Let’s look at the sitting judges first. All of the Federal judges were appointed by President Barack Obama. They have between five and nine years of experience and only one of them is on a Circuit Court of Appeals.
The state judges include three from California and Justice Anita Earls of North Carolina. With regard to Earls, her election was smoothed by having two Republican candidates in the race. One of these “Republicans” was a Democrat who switched his party registration at the last moment to ease the way for Earls. She had been the Executive Director and founder of the Southern Coalition for Social Justice.
California Supreme Court Justice Goodwin Liu had been nominated for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals by President Obama but the nomination was withdrawn due to a successful filibuster. Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) then appointed him to the California Supreme Court. Both Justices Cuellar and Kruger were appointed the California Supreme Court by Gov. Brown. They also both worked in the Obama Administration. Justice Cuellar’s wife is Judge Lucy Koh of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
Demand Justice makes clear that none on their list were from “big law” or had served as in-house counsel for corporations.
This exclusionary position would have eliminated both Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan from consideration.
Philadelphia DA Larry Krassner was elected as a result of George Soros’ $1.45 million investment in his race. It was part of Soros’ attempt to remake the criminal justice system through the election of district attorneys. The impact for the residents of Philadelphia is that violent crime is up. This is especially true of instances involving the criminal misuse of a firearm.
Carrie Severino writing in the National Review had this to say about the list and Demand Justice.
Demand Justice was founded two Obama Administration veterans. Brian Fallon is the Executive Director. Previously, he was Director of Public Affairs for the Obama DOJ, an aide to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and, last but not least, the press secretary to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Christopher Kang is Chief Counsel. He served in the White House as Deputy Counsel and Special Assistant for Legislative Affairs. Kang previously worked for Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL).
So in conclusion, #ReleaseTheList. The Democrat presidential candidates need to tell the American people just who they would nominate to the Supreme Court. While Trump’s list probably helped get him elected, I have a sneaking suspicion the same could not be said for either Demand Justice’s list nor that of most of the Democrats.
