Peter Strzok, the FBI official under fire over a series of anti-Trump text messages, was ‘escorted’ from the FBI building, his lawyer confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday.

Strzok's lawyer Aitan Goelman argued that even though his client has "played by the rules," he has been targeted by "unfounded personal attacks, political games and inappropriate information leaks."

"All of this seriously calls into question the impartiality of the disciplinary process, which now appears tainted by political influence," a statement from Goelman said. "Instead of publicly calling for a long-serving FBI agent to be summarily fired, politicians should allow the disciplinary process to play out free from political pressure."

"Despite being put through a highly questionable process," Goelman continued, "Pete has complied with every FBI procedure, including being escorted from the buidling as part of the ongoing internal proceedings."

News of Strzok's removal comes as Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed during a Congressional hearing on Tuesday that his office is investigating if Strzok's anti-Trump bias played a role in the launch of the bureau's Russia probe.

FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who was removed from the Special Counsel investigation after revelations of severe anti-Trump bias was exposed through text messages, was reportedly escorted out of the Bureau's office in Washington D.C. on Friday.

Although Strzok appears to remain employed at the Bureau, the escort came just one day after the release of a Department of Justice Inspector General report that revealed Strzok said he would "stop" Donald Trump from becoming president. DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz has been on Capitol Hill for two days testifying about the report's findings and Strzok's bias.

For weeks, but especially in light of the IG report, lawmakers have demanded to know why Strzok is still employed, not to mention in a human resources position.

All I can say is: FINALLY!!!!!

I’m desperate for some action. This will have to do for now.

I think that his lawyer is a bit biased and is taking huge liberties with the truth.

I want to see if he can enlighten the house and/or the senate.

That IG report that found no political bias in the out come of the investigation is a real killer for any kind of prosecution to occur against any FBI agent. For now it is the rule of the land, even though it is pure bull sh1t, and every one knows it.

Until it can be proven that bias influenced the out come do not hold your breath.

Personally I believe it can be proven that Hillary was let off the hook, and should be reinvestigated. Sessions doesn't seem up to the task, or any other task for that matter. It will take the DOJ to find bias, and only they can do anything about it. The ball is in the Jeff Sessions court. Let's see what he does with it. I have the feeling he will disappoint me in the end.

I sent both my senators and Sessions an e-mail saying in so many words that I believe Sessions got confused in his recusal from the russia investigation and thought he's recused himself from his entire job!!
