Well we set out to enjoy a great spring day before the rain comes today. all was going well (keeping my fingers crossed i have finally fixed the electrical problem i had. small red light that comes on when you turn the key, goes off when battery is being charged) when i lost the use of gas pedal.

luckily i had pull throttle cable so i just had to use that manually. i was trying to find a post of how the gas pedal is hooked up. any help and suggestions are appreciated. i did forgot to take pictures. i did get a few that i will post in adventures when i get them off the camera.

its a braided cable goes from the arm on the pedal over thr top of the trans through the fan tower to the carb i replaced mone with a morse cable core makes it easyer to feed into the lock barel on the carb

I broke mine near the end and it was an easy fix. Volkswagon uses a stiff wire .I just went to the auto store and bought a six ft hand choke for $6 and used the stiff wire out of it.
about 3ft is all you need . It would be best to check and see what size you have so the cable fasteners will fit.
