Family farmers fight corporations in North Dakota

North Dakota is one of nine states with anti-corporate farming laws that ban large companies from engaging in agricultural production. North Dakota’s citizens recently voted overwhelmingly to keep those laws in place. Despite the vote, the North Dakota Farm Bureau plans to fight the anti-corporate farming laws in court.

This was done in Iowa some years back.

Now the gate is wide open. Here in my area, the Mormon Church is lining up a 10,000 acer purchase. And I don't think they have to pay taxes on income either. (?) They own tens of thousands more in several mid western states. Now once established, they can and will buy even more... Making hard for private farmers to buy more land at a reasonable price.
