Poor Swift.
When I was out there it was JB Hunt, but Swift was rapidly making a name for themselves.

I used to have a notebook and drew some pretty funny trucking cartoons when I was bored.
No idea what happened to it.

Of course there are!

I don't know this, but I'm willing to bet when they started, they were probably a rough and tumble outfit with big trucks and big engines, and they were probably fast too, hence the name.

There used to be an outfit called Rocor, whose intention appeared to be to buy everyone up.

I worked for an outfit out of Denver called Husky.
We had big trucks, big engines, and they all ran triple digits.
Somehow they were consumed by Rocor, who came in and replaced all our trucks with the anteater freightliners.
Gone went the power and speed, as well as all the gauges, and they added the dumbass super 19 transmission.
You basically had a speedometer, and an oil light, and that was it.

You just can't take a guy who's used to running around the country in a big truck, and move him into a shitty little freightshaker governed at 63mph.

I quit and found an outfit called Bama. (yes, the pie people)
Good equipment.

I wasn't there two months, before Rocor came in and did the same thing they did to Husky.

I'm willing to bet something happened like that to Swift, and they threw their hands up and decided to become another student driver factory.

Swift means "Stop Whining I'm Fricking Trying.
J.B. Hunt. They forgot the O.
Schneider. Swift on sleeping pills.
All of that has changed now. Mostly Swift, Hunt and Schneider are using contract drivers. Not a lot of the company trucks in my area anymore.
