Definitively not a snow cat, but interesting non the less. A good example of over engineering a snow vehicle that proved to be a failure in practice and use.

A bit on the long side to watch, but the sheer size of this machine is impressive, especially considering the time when it was made. The fact they drove it from Chicago to the coast to load on a boat was a feat for the times. But who ever thought it would perform well with rounded smooth treadles faces was not a person whom I would ever trust. If it had tracks and turbo chargers on the diesels it might have been a much happier ending...

that is a great film.

predates the tuckers deployment and yes the story and design parameters are fascinating. I can just imagine the faculty meeting when they looked at the intern and said Here you go pete the intern, you will do fine. Just take this sand box toy and scale it up.... just use your imagination and have it on the coast by may....
