Let's rewind this back to December 24/11 before I go any further. I was getting out of my truck in my parents driveway. It's a cement driveway with a slight down slope towards the street. I make it around the front of the truck to the corner of the house where there is a downspout drain. It was milder during the day and apparently a bit of water runnoff from the roof coming out of the drain onto the driveway. Fast forward to the evening when temps dropped. That water runoff turned to solid ice.
So I'm walking around the truck and look over and notice the neighbor's daughter, who btw was wearing very nice tight jeans, shovelling some snow(that's that white stuff that falls from the sky for you southerners). Anyways, as I was admiring the sights, I apparently found the ice that now had a thin layer of fresh snow on it. My feet were out from under me faster then I could blink. I landed square on my left elbow and knee. The knee didn't hurt but the elbow sure did. I found myself at emerg on christmas day getting an xray. Nothing was broken thankfully.
Fast forward a month and my elbow has finally stopped hurting but now the knee is hurting so bad I can hardly stand on it for more then a few minutes. It swells up as soon as I put pressure on it and I can barely bend my leg. So I decided today to drag my butt back to the doc to get it looked at. As soon as she saw it, she did a quick little test to see if there was damage, then advised me to carefully get over to get an xray on it and get myself a knee brace. I'm now referred to a knee specialist with the possibility of having surgery to repair the damage.
