Selling a 1973 Bombardier Wide Gauge. It’s had an extensive amount of work done to it over the last few years and is turn key, ready to work and/or play. It’s got a 318 Chrysler industrial motor that runs excellent, Dana 60 diff, 727 automatic transmission (a very rare option for these), hitch on the rear with full tool box mounted, 8000 lb Warn winch on the front, numerous work lights mounted on the front, back, and sides, as well as PIAA fog lights. Has the ability to transport 12 people at once.
The following work and ad ons were all done by the owner, a licenced tech. All work was done over the last four years, with the machine only seeing light use over the last 2 winters. Essentially all new parts have seen minimal use. As follows:
-front suspension with dual front shocks (all rebuilt, sanded and powder coated)
-rear suspension rebuilt (bearings, spring pouches, etc. – all sanded and powder coated)
-all new tires (2 rears foam filled)
-new drive sprockets
-new tracks
-completely rewired
-door skins reskinned inside and out with rigid Styrofoam in the doors
-roof done with rigid Styrofoam, 1” perforated Styrofoam, then 1/8” hardboard
-2 coolant heaters
-power steering installed -factory heater -wipers (another added option)
-2 interior lights
-new aluminum dash
-both new gas tanks – poly
-all new ignition (points, cap, rotor, distributor, plugs, wires, coil, etc)
-new starter
-dual batteries
-block heater and battery blankets all hard wired
-new belts
-additional tool box located inside cab
-roof hatch completely functional
-fresh air fan
-exhaust rerouted out the rear (less noisy)
It will come with the original manuals and paperwork for the machine, and the carb will be freshly rebuilt prior to sale.
Currenly has a thick 2 part epoxy black paintjob. The camo ontop is done with a removable paint. Will easily come off if desired and is black underneath..
It’s got a total of 9600 miles on it and roughly 1750 hours on it originally, but all of the work described above has seen only 10-15 hours of run time. It will do roughly 40 mph and can be driven in extreme cold wearing nothing but a t-shirt and shorts inside (cab gets nice and warm).
As stated above this is a turn key machine ready to work or play, whether it be towing, bush whacking, hunting, or fishing. It’s been a great machine but is no longer used and so it’s time to see someone else enjoy it. It doesn’t need anything, the only major thing that wasn’t done were the interior seats. There are no major rips, they’re the original upholstery and could maybe use a cleaning. One side window has a crack in it.
I’m selling this unit for a friend who is the owner and did all of the work. I've got more pictures that can be sent upon request. Looking for $38 000 USD obo (or equivalent in CAD). Located near Winnipeg, Manitoba (about an hour north of the Canada/US border). Arrangements can possibly be made for a serious buyer to meet on the Canadian side at the border. Shipping can also be arranged. Please look into the documentation needed to get this over the border beforehand as it differs between states.
Can send more pictures upon request.
You can contact me by email, or call/text 204 795 2850 for more info.
