DMC 1450 200 ci Ford Solenoid

I’m replacing my alternator, regulator and solenoid on my 1981 1450 with the 200 ci. The Ford solenoid is a D2AF-11450-AA. It seems to be a pretty common part.
My cat’s solenoid has the starter connection on the left and battery/alternator on the right. I’m going to get the same solenoid at Oriellys and hook it up the same. I’m wondering why my big terminals are reversed from every other picture I see. Does it matter what sides they’re on?

Thanks,
Dan

Pictures. I cut off the bracket to get at the rusty bolts.

The large terminals can be reversed but not the small “S” and “I” terminals

……. B/G,... was your ''I'' terminal connected to your coil,...some are, some aren't ,... in some applications the relay switch..or ''continuous duty'' mag. switch,... is not grounded thru the mounting bracket, and in that case, it needs to be grounded , so mag. switch energizes properly. as brad said, the large post can be reversed, your ''alt.'' , or any power accessory wiring just needs to stay on the ''hot'' side..... this type of switch /relay is used on all kinds of applications.... ( they make these in a 3 stud option also, ''s'' stud only, and those do ground thru the mounting bracket. and if yours doesn't hook to the coil (''I'') connection, you can use that type in it's place also....)
