Snowmoble Today

We now have enough snow on the ground to get out and around the home area on the snowmobiles enjoying the winter time outdoors and exploring new areas. We still have to be careful and watch for land mines. We did find several hundred head of Elk today. We came around a corner of trees about a mile from home and they were just laying out in the open snow covered meadow. We stopped, took a couple pics and turned back as to not disturb them anymore. I did find a coyote out in the open and run him for about a mile until his tongue was dragging in the snow. His coat was still not looking decent for winter. He got to live for another day. The pic of the two snowmobiles are our smaller rock jumping limited snow condition Yamaha Phazers which are very economical to operate. They are great for light snow conditions such as we have currently and get around great. Our bigger high horsepower Polaris RMK's are still put up until we get more snow. Our high temperature today was only 12F. The snow will now stay until spring. :thumb:

We went up and over Powder River Pass today elevation of about 10,500 foot and played in the snow on our mountain snowmobiles. The temp was about 35F and the snow was up to 6 foot deep where the wind had not blown it away. Pigtails and I had a great 60 mile snowmobile ride, lunch at the local resort and back at home by dark. The next month is our big snow months normally and we should be able to ride up to April 15th with all of the snow we have this year. More snow is predicted for the rest of the week.

Great photos. I love the open country that you have to play in. You can play all day, and when you have a full moon you could play all night. :thumb:
Around here its to straight up and straight down for that
