Casino Royale

We just returned from seeing the new James Bond movie "Casino Royale". I have to give this movie a resounding :thumb::applause:.

Daniel Craig gives an outstanding rendition of the Bond character, and in many ways is much better than Pierce Brosnan. This latest movie has taken a much more "blue collar" approach to telling the story, and the movie is not filled with as many gadgets and special effects as the last couple ones have. I would say this movie is very much along the same lines as the original Sean Connery movies, where the plot line carries the movie, instead of the special effects. It is vastly superior to the older movies with better editing and sound, without half of the bad guys having been voice overed.

I give the move :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb: and highly recommend everyone go see it.

I look forward to seeing CR also.

I kind of wish the powers that be of the 007 Franchise would do more '60s era/cold war era Bond episodes. They keep making the movies as up to date as possible and they seem less entertaining as they go.

For example - Die Another Day with the ice chase just didn't make it for me. That was just dull and it was hard to believe I was watching a Bond film.

Sort of makes me think that they are out of ideas (just watch them make an episode set well into the future:( ). Even so, this is still the best action franchise ever.

I agree. All the Bond flicks requires you to stretch your imagination but in the older movies there were some things that you figured were actually 'semi-plausible' and could-maybe happen. In the newer movies it seems like technology is used as a crutch a little too much to create the excitement on the screen.

I too am looking forward to seeing Casino Royale.
