Ebay's changing the rules down here and I was wondering if there's anything similar up there ? http://pages.ebay.com.au/useprotection/changes-sell.html

http://www.smh.com.au/news/web/ebay-to-accept-cash-and-paypal-only/2008/04/09/1207420470674.html

Basically from June this year the only payment options allowed are either paypal (with fees that ebay get since they own paypal ....) or COD only allowed on physical handovers of items . Putting other payment options in your listing can lead to listing removal by ebay , are they doing this anywhere else or are we the guinea pigs for this one ?

I've not heard of it happening here so I guess you're the guinea pig.

They're getting pretty greedy. I bet their reasoning is because of scams and non-payment buyers.

Every time I do a transaction on Ebay, the rules have changed.

Last time, this spring, I discovered 'instant pay from bank' debited my bank account instantly then Paypal held the funds most of a week before releasing funds to the seller. WTF???

This was a $50 purchase and the seller's feedback was excellent. I asked the seller, and he showed me I hadn't made the latest request to Paypal to allow truly instant payment. Well, previously Paypal forwarded my payment instantly, why should I have to change anything to force them to release MY MONEY now? Anyhow, I studied the new rules, and upgraded.

Buyer beware. Not of sellers, but of Ebay/Paypal!

Because of Ebays incestuous relationship with paypal ...

I have been selling on Bonanzle -- much lower fees - not as much exposure - but if ALL ebayers would move to bonanzle, it is so very much like the ebay of yesterday -- years ago when it was for a smaller community - rather used by a smaller community. Ebay has become way too big business for me and is catering to the far east - I can get that in Walmart
