Vintage Bombardier Snow Coach

I came across a Bombardier snow coach while working in Alaska this summer. I really want to get it home to restore it but the cost of transporting it to the lower 48 may be more than it is worth. It is in a location that hat no connecting roads where it could be trucked out. It would require that it be trailered to an air strip and then flown to Fairbanks by DC6 and then trucked to Anchorage. A very expensive proposition. I'll post my pictures of it so at least you can see what it is. I could not find a plate with date of manufacture so does anyone have a guess as to its age? The motor is a V8 in the rear.

If all of that other equipment got in, surely it can go the other way?? They probably didn't fly that dump truck in there. Or did they?? Must have ice road access? Or river barge?

No ice road access but river barge may be a possibility have not checked but would still be costly to get it to lower 48. Not sure how all the other equipment got there but now most freight is brought in by DC6.

It looks like a Bombardier C18 Snow bus which was similar but wider than the B12. 18 passenger or used as a school bus seating 25 school kids which might go with the yellow color.

Earliest ones were wood 1951 they went to steel. In the 60's they switched to a V8 seventies industrial 318. 69 or so they switched to a rectangle window shape.

So 60's? Engine VIN might narrow that window.

Load up that jeep thing and the oliver that tractor tire was attached to. Bundle!

got to ask where that is I didn't think nac still flew the swing tails if its on the youkon or kusko barging is a real possibility you could likely barge all the way to seattle here shortly we will be loading a tucker freighter to go to seattle from nome also if Lyndon flys in and out of there back haul rates on their hurc are quite affordable. the cost of transportation usually means stuff that comes to the bush dies and stays there it was 8k with the good buddy discount to get my lmtv here should have been around 12 k

I'm not to fussy about those small spindle wheels ,but with that clean looking body, it would be a great restoration project.: hammer:

There's one in Manitoba in nice shape you could get it for 10,000 Canadian
Depending on where you live shipping would be cheaper
Have a good one
