Farmall Super C Hydraulic System Questions

Thanks Everybody for answering my Super C questions!!! I now have a couple more. (And I put a couple videos of the tractor on YouTube!) How do I tell when the system is full? Looks like you fill it until it runs out of the filler opening. Second: Hydraulic fluid goes in there? Or motor oil? (Looks like motor oil is in there now.) Silly question? I don't know what they did back in 1951.

Thank you very much in advance!!!

I would think you want hytran fluid in it. Most tractors use this for gear lube as well as hydraulic. TSC, Agway or even Sams club has it.

Hydraulic fluid dates back to ancient Egypt when it was composed of water. In the 1920's the switch to mineral oil began.

Thank you! I'll get some Hytran. Hopefully the tractor will be running again (after decades) tomorrow. I hope. I hope!
