This is Bull crap ! I finally end up at the surgeons about my broken shoulder 10 days ago . He tells me its surgery for sure and we need a MRI to verify everything . His nurse will set it all up asap. Yesterday I finally call the nurse who tells me to just keep waiting until the MRI nurse calls to set a appointment ! I get pissed and call her myself . Now I am going in on the 11th . She had never even set up a time before I called and bugged her .
In the mean time it has now been almost 7 weeks since my accident . I can't move my arm pass 30 degrees no matter how hard I try .It just won't move . It snaps and grinds . My wife made me promise to wait for the MRI or I would already be in the truck and headed back to Idaho . I'm cranky, sore, pissed off and hating doctors right now .7 weeks sleeping in a damn chair !!!!!!!!! In the mean time I have managed to rebreak my shoulder 2 times from doing studip crap . One of them were not my fault . So now the PT lady calls and wants to start PT therapy . I ask her if thats smart with a broken shoulder and that the doc says I also have a torn rotator and bicep damage . She just says sure , why not !!!!!
Great ! I can hardly wipe my butt now , why not finish me off so I can't do a damn thing at all . I'm going to go kick my dog !
I swear to God ,if I could handle the 9 hour flight to Panama ,I would go and get this fixed now .
I got the "whiney Buttom " on here and I ain't turning it off . Who wants to drink ? I'm buying !

What a waste of time !
Now I know what BobS. felt like when he had all that trouble with his foot a couple years ago .

If it is any help - you have my sympathy - worse than the National Health Service we have here with all the 'waiting times'. I am waiting for an operation on my right hand - could be any time in the next three months!

Oh man. I didn't realize you have injury problems right along with the real estate headaches. No fun.

I hope they get you in there and get this straightened out - real quick.

Sounds like an Idaho doctor might be able to fix you up just the same, but quicker.

No matter ...good luck in getting this resolved ..hope you are feeling better soon.

It's too bad there isn't private health care in this country. You could change doctors or even look for an MRI place that wasn't so busy that accepts your insurance or even just pay cash.

Oh wait . . . are you in Canada or the US?

You said a mouth full ! I can not believe how much better I was treated in Idaho as far as medical treatment .
In Idaho , I walked in the hospital emergency room and about 3 minutes later I was in a exam room . When my Dad had to go to a Calif emergency room the wait time was often 1-2 hours and maybe another 2 hours after he was placed in a exam room .
The doctor in Idaho even had my wife pull the truck up on the sidewalk so I did not need to travel so far when I left .
I think I should have just stayed in Idaho .......

In CA, you should have pretended you did't speak english, you would have it looked at right away and for free...

Hope you are treated soon and heal well.

OK! I am officially a whiney weenie and i admitt it . I finally got the MRI and new Exrays done today . The dye injection and exrays went fine but when the MRI lady bent my arm sideways I about exploded off the table . DAMN IT !!!!

Had to hold it like that for 30 minutes . My arm and shoulder are still achin and I am into this with about 4 tall/stiff drinks and two Advil later . I feel like its broke again !

I hope to hell they can now do there job and fix this .

Back when my health was better I did not chase them for long! Out came the rifle and start up the backhoe and put them in the cooler. I am hoping to get my shoulder looked at as soon as my health insurance kicks in. Been almost 6 months and certain things make it hurt like hell. I feel for you, buddy.

Well I got my results back today . I guess I ripped the liament off the bone . Doc told me I have to get surgery asap and theres no guarantee that they can reattach it .
4 months of recovery time . and no moving my arm for up to 6 weeks in the beginning . I am going to go nuts . Boy I really hate cows !!!
I am Going out to the shop tomorrow and build a butt wiping stick to use with my left hand . This is not going to be pretty .

It just gets better and better ! :glare::w00t2:

After more tests on my shoulder including all kinds of heart tests , the surgeon informed me today that he now feels this operation is beyond his skill level and I need to go see a "super" shoulder specialist in Sacramento . Its now gone from a simple out patient surgery to a open surgery and now to a very compilcated surgery ! I told him I have decided to try and live with it and I have no intention of going to Sacramento .
The pain level has come down the pass week and I can now live with it without pain killers . I been exercising like a mad man . The only thing that makes me turn a little green is when it pops in the socket . The exercises have helpped a bunch and I am now trying to build up what I have of my right shoulder mobility .
I really feel the Good Lord is trying to tell me something here . If he has put up this many road blocks to the surgery than I am going to listen .

This whole experience has put the fear of God In me as far as my wieght and I been losing at a rapid pace . I am well on my way to 210 to 220 . Maybe that is exactly what I needed to get motivated . I weigh now what I weighed back in 1992 .

I have learned to use my left shoulder and arm much more than I have ever used it . Its as sore as my right one !

You have a place to stay in Rochester Minnesota if you ever decide to come to the Mayo Clinic. It is not much but it is warm at the moment with good family friends that love to talk over a cup of coffee and sit in a rocking chair.

Rocking chairs are great ! I just bought one last week that also reclines . First rocker I ever owned and I really like it . I guess we are headed back to get one for the wife now that she tried mine .

Al, you are having better luck than I. If I get something my wife likes, it's back to the store to get me another because my wife has taken mine!

Al, if you keep losing weight I might have to lose some! :hammer:Bummer on the doc but he may just be gun shy of the surgery or your health. Keep working on the weight and get another doc's opinion. Keep us posted.

Yea , I was thinking the same thing . I am in Afib all the time and I think it spooked him a little . He read the results of my heart Echo today and that seemed to relieve him a little bit , But I do appreciate that he was honest enough to tell me he did not feel comfortable doing the surgery. The specialist that he reconmended is suppose to be very good at shoulders and I guess a second opinion would not hurt any .
In the long run , This may be the best thing that ever happened to me . Though I am pissed at myself for getting injured, it has finally taught me a valuable lesson that I have to lose the weight or suffer the consequences for my actions .

Thanks .... really its all good . I got my head on straight now and have really gotten serious about the weight loss . Thats worth 2 screwed up shoulders anyday . I am getting stronger each day .Somedays I lose a pound and some days I lose 1/2 pound but its coming off . Starting to feel a real difference in the way I move and feel overall .

I personally think by butt is looking more like when I was 20 . I almost hate the slutty comments my wife makes . It makes me feel cheap .NOT!!:w00t2::clap:Its hard to defend myself against her advances . In fact I gave up and just run for the Bedroom now !!!:w00t2::w00t2::w00t2::wink:
