Interesting LMC on ksl.com

I saw this LMC 1800 and thought it was pretty cool. LMC 1500 series machines show up pretty regularly, but 1800 series seem rare. I'm guessing they were substantially more expensive to purchase. (Turbocharged Caterpillar Diesel engine and hydrostatic drive compared with an AMC 6 cylinder gas engine and automatic transmission.)

I don't know anything about these, but this one looks from the photos that it was reasonably well taken care of. No affiliation.

I have lots of hours grooming with a 1998 LMC 1800 for our snowmobile club. Up until recently (adding a BR180 to our fleet), it was the top dog of our fleet. We plan to continue using it.

The Caterpillar engine is just amazing, especially compared to the Perkins in our BR. It is incredibly smooth and powerful.

Hydraulics on the LMC's are average.

Fit and finish is very poor compared to similar year BR's. The design is also kind of primitive and not as well engineered as a BR.

That price seems high, although the condition seems very good for the number of hours.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
