Lobo, your thoughts on this reflect mine and you have stated them quite succinctly. You're likely to get flack about this, as
I have, but hang in there. Islamic Supremacists are dedicated to the overthrow of all we found to be right and true, and if we
take no action, they will destroy our way of life.

Today is kind of a strange day for me.
I am both sad, frustrated and despairing, but I am also in a way happy and for the first time in a long time, I am free.

I am sad because the greatest nation on earth has decided it no longer wants to be either great or a nation. It will, probably within my lifetime, shatter and dissolve.
I am frustrated in that many Americans decided that immediate gain was more important than the future of their children and grandchildren.
I despair over the fact that the Constitution of the United States has now become nothing more than an interesting historical document and that the Declaration of Independence has become totally irrelevant. i despair because the sacrifices from Lexington and Concorde, to the French hedgerows, thru the waters of the Rhine, on the beaches of Guadalcanal, the Philippines, and all the pacific islands have just become meaningless. We as a nation have sold our birthright for nothing at all.

Yet, I am also happy in a way. No longer must I hold the needs of my nation more dear than my own, fo it is no longer the nation I swore my oaths to. My constitution has been shit upon, used as toilet paper by politicians and lawyers for years. As of today it is a dead letter. the oath I swore to uphold it no longer has any value.
I am also free. For almost my entire adult life I have done all in my ability to protect my constitution and nation from the forces that would destroy it, both internal and external. I have lost the fight. the American people have decided to destroy themselves and there is nothing I, or any other, can now do to save this country.
This means I can concentrate on saving my own, my family and friends from the worst of what is coming.
Guess the rest of you are trying to do the same too.
Yep, I am free of a burden I willingly carried for most of my life, and so should feel better. Yet I only feel like getting a good drunk on and crying.

And it just keeps getting worse. We now have the choice of either a megalomaniac or a criminal for president. While there is a third choice in some states, he hasn't a chance in reality.
There is nothing to be done for us, I am afraid. I wish that the pain could be ended quickly because it hurts to watch what could have been the greatest nation on earth slowly commit suicide.

Another so called election has passed. The republicans, in the form of Trump, won. This is not however, necessarily a good thing.
Trump, as noted elsewhere, is fairly ignorant of the constitution. He is also more about his ego than his country. Hopefully, he will pick advisors who do understand and can keep his ego under control.
While not really joyful that Trump won, I am extremely grateful that Hillary lost. While having an ignorant egoist in charge won't be great, having a criminal sociopath in charge would have been a disaster.

It is now up to the Republicans to undo much of the damage that Obama and his sycophants have done. The question is, do they have the ability to do so? Or, for that matter, the cojones. Undoing the damage done to this country is going to take a massive effort and cause a lot of pain to people. Really hard for politicians to do that. Most would rather stroke the egos of the progressive idiots and their economic slaves than take the heat of doing what is necessary to help the country.

Rest easy friend. We will be in good hands, of that I have no doubt.

The first 100 days will bring an intelligent conservative judge nominated to the Supreme Court, many illegal executive orders over turned, full speed ahead on oil and gas exploration, an alternative plan to ObamaCare, the EPA brought back under control and yada, yada.

What are the Dems going to do? Continue their slide toward political anonymity by nominating a ultra radical left wing muzzie as their head. :yum::yum::yum::yum:

Happy days are here again.

There are those among our citizenry that confuse liberty with license.

The freedom, or right, to do something requires the willingness to accept responsibility for our actions. To fail to do so isn't freedom, it is anarchy.

Modern slavery exists in the United States. It is based on control of the money rather than on ownership, but the end results are similar.

Socialist and communist societies are slaver societies. They believe that the individual is worth less than the state.

Capitalist societies too, carry a large element of the slaver. The focus on money by any means can force drudgery and loss of freedom on many.

I believe a company that encompasses the ideals of enlightened self-interest would be a strong affecter for social and economic change. Getting one started in the modern corporatist environment would be hard though.

Both the democrat and Republican parties have a major problem. Neither one gives a Sh*t about the constitution or the basic rights of the individual.

You have some mental midgets that claim "Violence never solves anything."
This is pure bullsh*t. Violence has solved more destinies than any other force in the world.

Those who abhor war should convince their politicians to quit writing checks the military has to cash.

It takes two sides to make peace, but only one to start a war.

Michael was my buddy. He was one of the soldiers I taught the ropes when he came to the unit. He had true courage. Every time we wound up in the heat, he was absolutely terrified. He did his job anyway. He pulled me up and carried me down the side of a hill after a mortar round hit too close. He was wounded himself, but carried his Sarge out because it was the right thing to do. When he put down his rifle and tried to make a life, not much went right for him. He had three wives, but they all left him for various reasons. Two daughters he loved dearly, but could never really communicate with. Me and a couple of buddies from back then seemed to be the only ones who could really understand. He fought cancer for about 6 months and we all thought he was getting better, but a little bit got into his blood and he passed away.
He reconciled with one of his daughters before he passed, she is the one who called me. It seems the only thing he wanted when he died was to have his pictures of us with him, and his daughter to hold his hand. I wish I could have done more for him. He didn't deserve the demons he carried, or the scars that hurt his soul. I owe him my life, but I also owe him so much more. Even till the end he had true courage. That of facing his fears and doing what he had to irregardless of the pain or loss.
Really need a drink right now, but know it would only make it worse.

Okay, there has been much ado about "peaceful protesters" in the news lately.
So, for those who may be confused, let me lay it out:

If you are a protestor, and stay in the designated zone allowed by permit, and engage in no violence against persons or property you are a peaceful protestor.
However,
If you block or impede traffic outside a permitted area, you are a criminal.
If you attack cars or other vehicles attempting to pass through, you are a criminal.
If you enter onto private property you are a criminal.
If you make threats against another person you are a criminal.
If you in any way assault another person, you are a criminal.
If you commit, or attempt to commit, arson, you are a criminal.
If you damage either public or private property, you are a criminal.
If you attempt to block law enforcement in detaining these criminals you are also a criminal.
If you are using the cover of peaceful protests to cover any of these illegal activities you are not only a criminal, you are also a coward.

Just got word a few minutes ago.
One of my (many) 1SG's passed away yesterday in Thailand.
He was found with a bottle of booze half empty, and a fairly young, well satisfied lady asleep in the bed. Seems he passed in his sleep.
This one taught me when to say no to officers and make it stick.
Also taught me when not to take the shot.
RIP Top.

May you walk the long grass and stalk the prey without thirst or fatigue. May you walk forever in the deep woods without fear.
Hold a place for me brother, for I will be along and we can stand and defend our maker together.

Being courageous doesn't mean fearless. It is taking your fear and channeling it to accomplish what you need to do. Those who are fearless are called statistics.
