A screaming baby, a tattoo artist and a radio station stunt that got the attention of the LAPD.
An April Fool's Day prank gone too far. The stunt by two local DJs backfires, sending the LAPD to their studio. The prank was designed to get listeners to laugh but many of them ended up dialing 911 instead.
Joey Medina and Kid Corona are used to being funny guys on Latino 96.3's "Morning Invasion." But Tuesday morning's April Fool's prank went a little too far for some listeners.
"What we did was we had someone come into the studio and have their 2-year-old tattooed," said Kid Carona. "They heard the yelling and the screaming of the child this morning."
What the DJs didn't tell their listeners is that those screams were recorded. In fact the whole stunt was taped Monday and played back as though it was live Tuesday.
"It was really easy, we just held the kid, the mom walked away and the kid was crying," said Joey Medina. "Small prank."
The popular DJs cooked up the morning stunt along with their producer. They even brought in a real tattoo artist to make it more believable. Even the station's general manager was in on the gag, by firing the DJs live on the air. But the prank hit a nerve with hundreds of listeners disturbed to think that anyone would tattoo a toddler.
"We had e-mails going through, phone calls, we had the police department show up, Child Protective Services threatening lawsuits," said Kid Corona.
The guys say they knew this prank would generate a lot of publicity -- and not all good -- but they say they wanted to send a message to the community as well.
"The minute you try, police will be involved immediately," said Kid Corona.
"We're just glad the people calling up were that concern for the child," said Joey Medina. "It makes us feel good for society."

I don't think is funny
