I often wonder if the pro-abortion people ever stop to realize how fortunate they are that their Mother chose life. I wonder if any of them chide their Mom for doing so.

Someone has to speak for and defend the rights of unborn children. I would rather be on the side of life, than to tell my friends and children that I believe otherwise.

Nope never gave it much thought. I'm not for abortion but am for woman's right to choose. The reason I never gave it much thought is I'm here and if I wasn't I wouldn't know what I missed.

Think of it this way. If abortion were a viable option back when Obama was just a discovered annoyance in his mothers womb. His parents being unemployed students without any real substance, may have chosen abortion as the best way out of their situation and he never would have existed to be where he is today.

I have always thought of myself as very very anti abortion. I think, for me, any form of abortion is a sin. I absolutely know when the baby reaches viability and is aborted it is murder and should be considered as such. I am not sure enough to tell others they cant do it before that point.

When does viability occur? Not looking ot pick a fight - looking to explore.

Here's a statement that I can not get my arms around - "The mother had an abortion performed"

If a mother, then it must have been murder!

Or to put it another way, when aborted, is what's left a corpse? At what point is it a corpse?

Whenever I discuss abortion with Pro choice people I use terms like baby and murder, I will remember to use the term corpse next time. When they have a fit I start calling it "it" with tiny baby or something like that in (). I beleive in my heart killing a fetus is murder. Letting them use term like fetus is silly. We do you do it? After viability it is certainly a premie. Dont let them off easy.

A full term baby can not survive on its own. It needs a provider.

Likewise, preemies have the same need.

I suspect that as time goes on, the point at which a baby can survive with medical help becomes earlier in the pregnancy.

I always attempt to have the opponent provide a fixed number of days of gestation to viability, then ask how is that measured? Then I ask about 1 minute sooner, 1 hour sooner, 1 day sooner, 1 week sooner?

What if the assumption of the date of conception is off by a day, abortion performed, but then the correct date was determined, is it now murder? Why not?

I was born a Catholic, but I don't attend church anymore (my high school years taught me the hypocrisy), but, I have to admit, the Catholic Church does have the most consistent and logical stance on the subject.

The Catholic Church as well as many other religions also believe masturbation and birth control are equal the same as abortion. Abstinence is their only real answer to unwanted pregnancies but nature will always over ride religious beliefs for most people. It is the single strongest drive in all living creatures, to reproduce.

I have assisted young ladies on both sides of this issue. One chose to have a child and place it for adoption. She still wonders about that childs life. Another chose abortion because of fetal health issues. I held the girl while she cried for a dead child. There are no easy answers here.
Unfortunately, many in this debate seem to think that abortion is only a form of birth control and not the destruction of a homo sapien.

I agree on that and mostly due to religious beliefs in most cases. In my opinion and that is based on being a father of 4 kids, who then went on to give my 17 grand kids and 4 great grand kids abortion was never considered a viable option. With that said I had no problems with birth control ever if you don't want to produce children but then I am one of the lucky ones all of mine where born healthy with no defects. I've never been faced with any choice in the matter. Abortion when I had my kids was completely illegal in the US. I had trouble finding a doctor that would do a vasectomy on me when I was 23 years old. That was considered against many of their religions too. The fact that my wife had 5 pregnancies in 6 years losing one in the 3rd month didn't seem to matter. Oh and they didn't do it to women in those days without medical reasons.

Thanks and they have changed a lot. We all live in a different reality today than most of us grew up in. Nothing is a simple as it used to be anymore.
