I highly doubt anyone knows the answer to that one.

I am pretty sure it is more now than say 10 years ago, as some have been resurrected and put back into running condition.

They seem to be in demand since there is nothing quite like them around today. It has been said that about 2/3 of total production came to North America, and 1/3 stayed in Europe.

They are out there laying in bone piles still, if you can find them, some are to far gone for a rebuild and are effectively parts machines.

we started a count with the serial numbers but it kind of faded away. I think it is in the snowcat history section.

Hello Klaus, been thinking about selling mine. St4 , #174 . Very nice condition. Almost all original. Brought the starter to town to get rebuilt and got a reman back. That and the choke cable are the only replacement parts, if I remember correctly. And I put an exhaust on it. I have lots of parts , about 50 sets of track cleats , a full actuator tower and another tower without the belt chiv. Extra drive assembly, couple sets of brass sprockets one set new if I remember correctly. And some more. 1200 hrs . Belonged to the Air Force, there is a blue plackard on the dash stating seatbelts must be worn by USAF . Then to forest service. There was a sticker on the dash but it fell off. The outline is still visable. Then to previous owner who bought it at Gov surplus. Then to me . It runs and drives.
Now if I can figure out how to post a picture.

Posting pictures is easy but you need to be patient. Use the Go Advanced option. Click on the paper clip. it will open up a box where you can navigate to the photo location. Only do 2 at a time though or it will throw a security error which makes no sense.
