I dont know if you have seen these photos, but I guess no harm to try again...
From the AB Westeråsmaskiner factory around 1966ish..

The variable sheeves for the steering in a Snow Trac are the same sheeve's the combine used for threashing cylinder variable speed.

Yup farm equiptment. Westeramaskiner if I remeber correctly means something like "forge on the hill".
