Just a thread to announce new additions, especially albums, to my photo gallery. Some of you may not care, but neither do I! :moon:

First, the famous 1964 Foreign Car Guide, vol77, highlighting our beloved Kristi Snow Cat. In the article, they just touch upon some of the technically-advance, scientifically-engineered, snow-conquering secrets that make this cat so great.

Second, from the publishers of the Foreign Car Guide, "Your Volks 'A' to 'Z'". It's a thorough look at the Volkswagen with descriptive discussions of various parts and items of interest to VW owners. It's like, really old and stuff, but so are most of you! :moon:

Fourth, pictures and videos of the high-explosives testing I use to do at White Sands Missile Range and the Nevada Test Site, as well as a few other locations. There's just one video up there now, but there will be many more added in the coming months as I rummage through my many storage sheds. :smileywac

That should provide some of you a bit of a respite from the 'wildcat rifle wearing a furry coat' thread. :moon:

Actually, when I was down in that ditch yesterday with two tracks off the machine, I had one or two visions of an explotion like that with nothing but little red peices of metal flying through the air.

I have a few things to add that are just too big for the FF gallery, so I put them on youtube instead. First, my ride in the B17G, 'Aluminum Overcast'...does life get much better than this?

Next up, one of my previous jobs, as some of you may know, was weapons testing, force protection, and counter-terrorism for the DoD. A big part of the job was, well, blowing stuff up. Here is the first of a 5 part video of one of the large scale tests we did at White Sands Missile Range.

It's purpose, as it'll say in the video, was to test the survivability of weapon systems when subjected to the effects of a nuclear (nucular for you Reps) blast. In this case, rather than setting off a nuke, which wasn't allowed by treaty, we ignited an oxygen/aluminum powder mix and detonated a buttload of ANFO to simulate the heat and blast of a nuke. I'll get the rest of the video digitized and uploaded as I get time. I also have a lot of smaller test shots of Patriots, stealths, GBUs, cruise missiles, FAEs, etc to digitize as I get the time.

I was standing next to the cameraman in the opening scene where you see the shockwave ripping across the desert. It knocked the ballcaps off about half the guys standing there, about 5 miles from GZ!

Looks like this will just be a 3 video series instead of 5. Here's 2 of 3.

And finally part 3, where you finally get to see some slo-mo video of stuff getting blown up.

ALL of those are just flat out AWESOME!!!! :punk::punk::punk:

The B-17 had to be very very exciting. Those turrets are fun as heck to see and I would be scared shitless if I was in one at time of war!

The results of the blast were facinating. Especially to see the shockwave with a highspeed camera. And the 80 foot crater was much larger than I envisioned. I wonder what would happen in a high clay area?

I have that same one posted in my photo gallery & the forums. I was given several original copies of that issue (before you joined the ForumsForums) and actually mailed some extras out to other members. But the whole article is posted here on the Forums. Nice article by the way.
